Rated 5 de 5 de par Plumbing made simple Attempted to solder copper pipes together for a newly purchased water softener, after the pipes were fully installed they leaked in multiple spots. Now we have leaky pipes and the water is shut off to the house. AHHHH!!! Sharkbite came to our rescue. They snapped together in a matter of moments. No more leaks, no hassle, works perfectly, looks great, what else could you ask for? They are a little pricey, but attempting to solder and having to start over isn't cheap either. These were just put in, so I cannot attest to the longevity, but very happy with the results at this time.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Quick and easy great product Used 2 of these 3/4 elbows to replace leaking copper elbow joints. Very easy to install cut the copper pipe used Sharkbite tool to debur copper pipe and pushed on Sharkbite elbow and ran PEX to water heater. Much easier than soldering and can install fittings on wet pipe. Have used these fittings for many jobs and have never had a leak. Great product!

Plus you can remove them and make corrections as needed without having to cut and cement - wasting materials and time. These are a great time saver for every project that I have used them on. I am curious how they will hold up over time before they leak. No issues so far but always cautious when trying something new. I keep a few on hand for when the next project pops up.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Quick Elbow Product felt of high quality in my hand. It slid on easily to the copper and pex pipe. I had to turn two corners and the pieces still rotated allowing me to easily place the assembly in position.

This is an awesome product that I've been using for years now and it has greatly reduced the time I spend on plumbing projects. It is much pricier than using solder but what you gain in increased safety (no flame), less line contamination, and less time spent on old existing lines that need repair, tapping in to, or re-routing makes it well worth it.

They work great and make quick work of plumbing. I used these to hook up a water filter and softener to my house. Transitioned from 1 inch copper to PEX and also used PVC threaded connectors on the hardware. Everything worked perfectly. Excellent product.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Great Product These are great fittings for the DIY person that likes to fix his own plumbing or water lines without the hassle. Had to replace my TPR valve on the water heater and decided to use these along with Pex tubing for the relief drain from the TPR. Took all of 15 minutes to install TPR valve with Sharkbite fittings and Pex tubing. Tested and not a single drop a water leaked.

Will this work on cpvc

Posée par: Aaron
No, I would not recommend it. A glue on elbow is just as easy, cheaper and recommended.

Can Sharkbite fittings be used for a Rheem tankless water?
Posée par: POINDEXTER
There’s no restrictions to use a fitting for any application, right now I’m using a pair of ball valves from sharkbite for the same tankless water heater.

I am using the sharkbite elbow. I notice a small triangle on them pointing in a certain direction. I was wondering if they are directional?

Posée par: Joe
The elbow is not directional. Water can flow through it in either direction.

do i need to use a crimp ring with these sharkbite push-fit fittingS? my understanding is that i do not.

Crimp rings are not to be used with the Push-to-Connect SharkBite fittings. The fittings are engineered to hold PEX, copper or CPVC without the use of any additional fastening methods.

how do you remove and replace one of these?

I have one of these fittings going from my hot water heater. It goes from a copper pipe to a gray pvc. It's leaking from the pvc pipe. When I bend the pipe to make a more accurate 90° turn the spray stops. Can I just reseat the pipe or do I need to replace it? And if I do need to replace it , how do I take the elbow off???
Posée par: Jeffrey
Home Depot sells a removal tool for a couple bucks. Grey pipe is most likely PEX . After removing the fitting, cut the pipe back an inch or so and reinstall. Good luck.
