Rated 5 de 5 de par [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These SharkBite disconnect clips are a must-have for anyone who works with SharkBite fittings. This particular clip is designed for use with PVC piping only. They are available in three sizes, 1/2 in., 3/4 in. and 1 in. When working with copper, PEX or CPVC use the orange models also available at Home Depot. Releasing an installed fitting is quite simple. Clip the tool onto the pipe (doesn't matter which side faces the fitting). Making sure the fitting does not move, slide the tool up to the disconnect collar and press the collar in. Once compressed, pull on the fitting. You may have to twist and turn to get it off.. These clips also provide a depth gauge to mark a pipe for the correct insertion depth. I did find a little ambiguity with these measurements. Under the heading FAQ they show the correct depth for 1/2 in. pipes as 15/16 in. but the gauge on the clip measures 1-1/8 in. Also the 3/4 in. clip is shown as 1-1/8 in. but the clip gauge measures 1-1/4 in. Which is correct? I'm inclined to believe the gauge on the clip. I was unable to locate any type of warranty information on this product but it's molded with a very strong plastic type material and I think it's pretty much unbreakable.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like this device made for disconnecting Shark Bite fittings. I use them for disconnecting poly pipe plugs for pressure testing while concrete is being poured for in-floor radiant heating systems. It is nice for all use points of the Shark Bite because of the depth indicator for marking the pipe with a sharpie before inserting it into the fitting. You never have to be concerned that you have not shoved the poly pipe in far enough. Other than it is small and easy to misplace, the tool is perfect.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you use SharkBite, these disconnect clips are a must-have item. If you only use ¾”, then this is the way to go, otherwise get the 3-pack with each size. The white color indicates it’s for PVC, vs. the orange disconnect clip which is for copper fittings (the tan ring on the SharkBite fitting). White to white—it couldn’t be any easier. Here’s the link to the fittings you would use it on: https://www.homedepot.com/catalog/pdfImages/c6/c6435a58-6b28-4767-9394-8a63a630b5c0.pdf A few nice features of this clip—there’s a built-in marking guide to make sure you insert your PVC far enough, and the little hole on the disconnect is great for a cord to keep your disconnect handy, especially if you’re working in the dirt and drop it. It sounds silly, but it saves needing to put it back in your bag each time—just clip it on your belt and it stays handy when you’re mocking up and test fitting everything.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This 3/4 inch SharkBite disconnect clip is perfect. It has directions for when the crew forgets how to use it, is small enough but large enough to stay in a tool box and not get lost, and it has something to hang onto when you use it. It works with PCV and Pex. It does the trick and does it well. I've had other disconnects that were too small, hard to hang onto. You could actually drill a hole in the handle and put it on a key ring with your other disconnects.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you work with push on fittings and have ever had to remove one, you know how that is almost impossible without the right tools. These disconnect clips allow you to release the fitting so you can reuse it or fix a mistake. With their larger grip surface these disconnect clips are easier to use than some other styles. It could be hard to use this model in very tight spaces, but usually they are great. Make sure to get ones for the most common pipe sizes.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Unless you are working with Sharkbite fittings for PVC this disconnect isn't for you. Most Sharkbite fittings work universally with PEX, copper, CPVC, etc. but NOT PVC. As a home handyman and not a plumber I was preparing to modify the plumbing to my hot water tank that uses Sharkbite fittings and PEX tubing and found this disconnect tool too large for what I needed. Obviously my fault for not reading the description carefully. Sharkbite fittings and PEX tubing are a great advance over sweating copper but you need to follow simple instructions. The illustrations on the back of this disconnect are OK but the written instructions are unreadable. I highly recommend going to Sharkbite.com and viewing/reading/downloading the material there.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This little tool disconnects SharkBite fittings and if you've never used one like this they they are a absolute must in the old tool box. the last plumbing job I did it took me nine trips to the store to try and figure out the right stuff to get. After discovering SharkBite fittings I guess there's others out there but it's what I used, it became a one-and-done extremely easy No Mess no fuss no bother no hassle just quick water tight fit.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've used Sharkbite fittings for years in every DIY plumbing project that requires hot and cold water fittings. They save time and don't leak. However, it's always been frustrating when it's necessary to remove the fitting from the pipes for whatever reason. The small orange removal tool has always been difficult at best for me to use. This new IPS disconnect clip makes removing a Sharkbite fitting much easier and a lot less frustrating.

Can this tool be used to remove the sharkbite support liners from the fitting? I am attaching to copper pipe so the support fitting is an unnecessary restriction that should be removed first. Will this work or do I need the pliers-type tool instead to remove the support liners?

Hello, SharkBite disconnect clip model # UIP712A is intended for use with SharkBite PVC fittings (white release collar) which do not contain support liners. SharkBite model # U712A (SKU # 941656) can be used to help remove the support liners from standard 3/4" SharkBite fittings that will have tan colored release collars. The disconnect clip is used to push in the fitting's release collar. Once the release collar is pushed in a clean pair of needle nose pliers can be used to pull the support liner from the fitting. If you have additional questions please don't hesitate to reach out to our technical support department at 877-700-4242. Best Regards,
