Rated 5 de 5 de par Just Fantastic! These push-to-connect or slip couplings from Sharkbite is simply amazing! I had a leaking water softener but to replace the softener head I had to remove all the copper pipes by cutting it because it was all welded together. I cut my pipe at the inlet and outlet end and push these 2 couplings on each end and put everything back together. No leaks and just easy to install.

It's very hard to slip the copper pipe inside this coupling even using the release tools. I am the man with lots of strength, but even I cannot operate it. Especially during the job, you cannot move back and forth once you push in the pipe. For this problem, I wasted a one. Very bad design! The company should test it's usage in all working positions (upper, lower, vertical, horizontal, angle, far and close to the body, not just horizontal close to your body).

Rated 5 de 5 de par Worked better than epoxy! Tips For whatever reason this 1in size doesn't show up in the Home Depot search engine. Notes during installation: 1. 2in of pipe is to be removed- if you are replacing a failed epoxy repair, 2in can be tight. I'd skip the epoxy and go straight to this in the future. 2. Several comments here about how hard it is to slide. I found that the release tool orientation made a difference- it was easier when the square corner side of the release tool faced the sharkbite instead of the rounded corner side. That plus some wiggling and rotating got it to move reasonably well. 3. Read a tip to add a grounding strap across the sharkbite- made sense to me and was worth the extra $5. Two brass grounding clamps and #6 copper wire, both from the electrical department did the job.

The Sharkbite Slip Coupling was perfect for our well pump pressure tank replacement project. Our pressure tank was clogged and needed to be replaced. The existing tank had both brass and CPVC fittings, but had no union in the plumbing, so we had to cut the main CPVC water line leading into the house plumbing. We wanted to re-use as much of the existing plumbing as possible, but did not want to wait around for the CPVC glue to dry, so we used the Sharkbite Slip Coupling to serve as the union. It worked perfectly and was installed in just a minute or two. We have used Sharkbite fittings before, so we already had the pipe trimming tool which we used to clean up the pipe ends. We pushed on the Slip Coupling and slid it into position. We were able to pressurize the lines immediately, working perfectly as a union with no muss or fuss. The Slip End is clearly marked and was easy to put into position without any leaks. These may cost a bit more than glue unions, but when we need a fast install with pretty much guaranteed successful outcome, we go to the Sharkbite fittings. Highly recommended.

I have an older home and several places on the main water line I had pinhole leaks. Some places were really tight or very close to framing and joists in the basement where traditional soldering was going to be difficult or next to impossible. I was skeptical about SharkBite fittings. But these Push-to-Connect slip Couplings have saved me $$$ and have held up over time. It has been three years since I did the first two and I have gotten more pinholes on the line. It is getting to the point of redoing the whole line at some point, but until then. These work great.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Sharkbite Slip Coupling used with pex I was hoping to use this slip coupling to repair the copper water main entering the house. Due to some settling, I had to use a three foot section of 1" pex to make the repair. The packaging for this product says it is for copper or cpvc, but it does not indicate pex. I can report it does work with pex on the "non-slip" end of the coupling. Just make sure the plastic pex stiffener is installed in the pex tubing and then slip the coupling up to the stop like a normal Sharkbite fitting.

Rated 2 de 5 de par PRODUCT DEFECTIVE Very difficult to install and started to leak badly. Had to remove and use a new one. Prior to installing the first one, polished tubing, deburred and lubricated tubing and fitting with o-ring silicone grease. The second fitting I cleaned, polished and applied plumbing pipe seal to tubing and fitting. The second fitting dripped and eventually stopped.
