Rated 5 de 5 de par What you need in case of a plumbing emergency I keep a couple of these Sharkbite stop fittings in my plumbing tool bucket in case of a sudden plumbing leak. A few years ago, the water line going to my water softener broke and I was able to use these Sharkbite fittings to repair it quickly (after I shut off the water, of course!) Now I keep a couple 1/2" and 3/4" stops and a ball valve in my tool kit for future emergencies. The stops aren't a permanent fix -- just a way to plug the broken line until the appropriate fittings can be installed. The nice thing about Sharkbite fittings is that you can quickly install and remove them again with just a few simple tools.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Best thing to happen to indoor plumbing since... indoor plumbing. Got a couple of these to temporarily cap some supply lines while doing a remodel. Stupid easy to use, just make sure you have a clean cut and push them on. Need to take'em off? No problem, push on the collar and they slide off. No fuss, no muss, no leaks! No heating a pipe enough to burn off the remaining water inside to get a good joint when soldering. Will be nice to have around for emergency use when I'm done with them too. A little pricey at first, but cheaper than a plumber or connections that leak because you had some steam/water leftover when trying to solder.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Pricey, but super convenient and reusable I keep telling myself that I should buy a crimper and save a TON of money BUT ... I can install a SharkBite component in seconds. I often times find myself reconfiguring my plumbing as I make improvements to my layout. On a number of occasions I've relocated, repurposed or "returned to inventory" for the next project a SB component and it feels satisfying every time. SB quality is incredible. Wouldn't change a thing. Yes it's pricey, but I was able to cap a line that I reconfigured in 7.2 seconds and I can reuse it down the road if I change things up again.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Great in an emergency, but reused fittings sometimes leak. Sharkbite caps, couplers, and valves are great to have on hand in an emergency. They are trivial to install and easy to remove. They are generally reusable, but the chance of the inner ring becoming loose and leaving a leaky connection increases dramatically each time the fitting is installed and removed. With a brand new fitting on clean pipe (cut cleanly and square, no scrapes or solder lumps) I'd confidently say they are more reliable for repairs than most diy soldering, especially in tight spaces or wet pipe where soldering is tricky. I would use them as a permanent fix, without reservation, in a location where a tiny leak would not be a problem - an unfinished basement, exposed under a sink, etc. I would not use them inside of a wall or an area where a leak would go unnoticed and cause problems unless I was 100% sure the fitting had never been used before.

Rated 5 de 5 de par I really like the Sharkbite end stop as I can... I really like the Sharkbite end stop as I can quickly stop a water leak on both copper and CPVC plastic pipes and have the ability to remove it and use it again on another broken water pipe leak as needed. Excellent emergency plumbing item to have in your plumbing parts box. I was able to cap the broken pipe and turn on the house water again without missing a beat until I could permanent fix the pipe using a Sharkbite slip connector coupler which I purchased a couple hours later.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Worked perfectly Our area had a burst of extremely cold weather and many locals had pipes burst. The wait for plumbers was 3+ days. I was able cut the damaged pipe and use these caps to seal the ends. The entire process took 5 minutes. That allowed me to restore water to half the house. These caps saved me 2 nights in a hotel!

Rated 5 de 5 de par excellent product this product worked perfectly. there are a few things you need to know before using it. you need at least 1 and 1/2" of pipe left to make it fit also your end cut has to be even and straight with no burrs. a great help are the shark bite videos on their web site

I need to cap off 2 water lines (where a washer/dryer used to be). This will be in-wall. Are SharkBite end-caps suitable or would you suggest traditional soldering? Most likely this would be a permanent water line cap. Thank you.

Posée par: Mike
Sharkbites are great, however if you are going to cap off behind a wall, I would do traditional soldering, if you can

How do you remove/ cut pipe? I am assuming they are not reusable

Posée par: Eduard
They are reusable. They come with a sharkbite removal clip ( it's orange) it pushes against the plastic seal and releases the cap
