Rated 5 de 5 de par [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The SharkBite 3/4 in. PEX plastic barbed 90 degree elbow fittings in a 5 pack are more economical to purchase in larger quantities but for a smaller job this 5 pack is a convenient size, I have found I like the SharkBite products and have never had a problem with any failures of these fittings. When you factor in the total cost of PEX pipe and fittings compared to copper pipe and fittings plus the larger labor cost of copper I will usually always use PEX. I have used these plastic fittings on a underground irrigation system and have not had any problems with them.

My Grandson has a hearing problem, had surgery which was successful, but may need a second surgery in about a year. He's 5 years old and has a slight speech impediment because of it. A friend who is a Speech Therapist told me to make him a telephone receiver type instrument that he could speak into and hear the sounds he enunciates. I used these connectors and some scrap pieces of Pex to fashion his "phone". So far when he practices speaking into it and hearing himself, he is actually beginning to speak normally. Hopefully after his second corrective surgery, he won't need a hearing aid and his speech will eventually straighten out.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have lots of good things to say about the SharkBite product line in general. But the SharkBite plastic pex fittings are my go to if I am doing pex with crimps. I have used the brass in the past but now try to stick to the plastic. Both are great - don't get me wrong. The brass is more expensive, and I would gladly pay more if I thought I was getting more value out of the brass. The issue I am faced with is that I see more homes where acidity has caused pin-holes in copper pipes. I know we are speaking about pex here, but I worry about brass failing over time when exposed to acidic water conditions. Plastic on the other hand is inert and I need not worry. These plastic pex fittings work every bit as good as the brass fittings and I have never had one fail. Cheap, simple easy to use - can't ask for much more.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Pex fittings by Shark Bite is the way to go. When my house was built 50 years ago copper supply plumbing seemed the way to go- but acidic water over the years have taken its toil on the copper. Pex seems the way to replace the copper. During any re-modeling project or repair I am gradually replace the old copper supply lines with pex/ These plastic fittings are well made, inexpensive and seem to be the best alternative- the plastic is not bothered by the acidic water.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have the PEX couplings along with these 90 degree elbows....I am changing out copper fittings in a rental property and decided to go with this product. They are quick and easy to install . They appear to be very durable and I believe they will last a very long time. Lightweight and the material is thick so they can stand up to abuse and the elements . I recommend these whenever opportunity presents itself to upgrade or use in new construction applications

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use these fittings all the time when I run PEX pipe. I started out buying the brass ones that cost a whole lot more. One time I had an order that got mixed up and they sent me these plastic ones. I did't have time to run get the brass ones so I used these plastic ones. They worked just great and never had an issue with them. So i haven't seen any reason to spend the extra money on the brass fittings as these work great.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We are rerouting plumbing in our basement and using PEX tubing instead of the traditional galvanized steel or copper. The PEX tubing is easy to install and where needed to make 90 degree angles we are using SharkBite barb elbows and I am using clamps to keep the connections from leaking. The barb elbow allows a strong seal and is extremely cost efficient when compared to other fitting types.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use these PEX compatible barbed elbows to replace old plumbing under my home and am pleased with the quality and ease of installation. To ensure a leak proof connection I use stainless steel crimp rings. I will also be using these fittings for hydroponic water distribution in my green house. They are well made and cost effective compared to other types of plumbing fittings.

Are these approved for residential potable water? Any reason I wouldn't want to use these over the brass ones? They are so much cheaper than the brass ones.

Posée par: Belcat
Hi There, Yes the plastic (Poly) fittings are approved for residential and commercial potable water applications. It is personal choice when selecting brass or poly PEX fittings. Thanks.
