Rated 5 de 5 de par Great for temporary connections... ...and apparently for permanent ones too. I understand that the UPC now allows these fittings to be used inside walls in permanent installations. I am using a pair of these tees to make a temporary connection from my old copper water system to my new PEX system. When I am finished cutting out the old copper, I will relocate my water heater and run new lines to my PEX manifold and from the city's main supply line, and connect those with permanent barbed fittings and crimp rings. But in the meanwhile, these do a great job. They went in VERY quickly and there has been no sign of any leakage.

Rated 5 de 5 de par great product I was doing a plumbing project , installing a new UV light and a house water filter housing and saw the benefits of using Sharkbite products. With all Sharkbite products the pipe inside will spin and I will be able to swivel my UV canister away from the wall and remove it if would need replacement .After installing everything I didn't have enough teflon tape on the threads causing a leak and had to remove the UV unit and yes it did swivel away from its hold down brackets so I could reseal the threads .

Rated 5 de 5 de par Easy connection These push-fit fittings are great and easy to use. They will speed up installation. I used it to connect my existing CPVC with the new PEX tubing and it was a very simple installation. They are a little more costly but are worth the money.

Sharkbites are great for tying into existing work or running new work, without any soldering... if the space you are working in is tight, and neither side of the pipe will move much (for copper), be sure to get the "slip-tee" version, which will allow you to slide the sharkbite down further on the pipe and slide it back to make a solid connection.... great innovation and makes a 20 minute solder job into existing work (after draining the lines) take about 5 mins.

I was going to the Sharkbite 3/4, 3/4, 3/4 Tee to add an additional water line for a sink. I noticed a direction arrow

Pointing in from the single 3/4 side. I want the water to flow out of the single side to my sink. Will that work
Posée par: JT

Will this work with PVC? the incoming water line to my house is 3/4" schedule 40 PVC. i am looking to 'T' off of that and run PEX in opposite directions. just not sure if i can go PVC into the bottom of this T, and then PEX either direction.
Posée par: matt
No, that tee is just for PEX, copper or CPVC. The tee you need is a transition tee from schedule 40 PVC to PEX, copper or CPVC. This tee is a special order item on HomeDepot.com. The special order sku # is 1001501319. Your other option would be to install a 3/4" PVC transition coupling first, then a small piece of PEX pipe, then the 3/4" tee you originally inquired about. Both of those fittings are sold in the store without having to special order anything. If you have any further questions, please contact our Customer Service, M-F, 8am-5pm at (877) 700-4242.

How much do you have to cut the pipe you will be servicing for this to fit properly and how far does the pipe slip into the tee?

Posée par: umchong2
As per Sharkbite, the pipe insertion amount for 1/2 fittings is 15/16" or almost one inch. You'd have to cut accordingly to make this fit. They have another Tee fitting with a 'slip' end which would make the installation much easier.
