    Rated 3 de 5 de par Difficult to balance generator load When powering 12 circuits it is very difficult to balance generator load. The panel splits the load as 8 breakers on one line and 4 breakers on the other. The line with 8 breakers is much easier to overload and cause the generator breaker to trip. This isn't a problem while operating from main power. Look at the accompanying picture. The upper and lower breakers are on one bus, and the middle breakers on the other.

    i need to download instruction manual for house generator panel

    it is a siemens generator panel installed in my basement to receive input from a Briggs and Stratton generator. I was not given a booklet with the generator panel and need to know the sequence of how to switch from usual electricity to input from the generator plugged into the side of the house.

    The order is 1. Switch off all breakers (below the linked breakers) in the transfer panel. 2. Switch the linked transfer breakers to the generator side. 3. Plug your generator into the plug on the side of the house. 4. Start your generator and let it warm up for 3-5 minutes. 5. Switch on the breakers (in the transfer panel) one at a time leaving 10 seconds before switching the next one on. This gives the generator a few seconds to get accustomed to the increased load. To switch back to commercial power reverse the order. 1. Switch off all breakers in the transfer panel. 2. Shutdown the generator. 3. Disconnect from the house. 4. Flip the linked breakers to utility power. 5. Switch the breakers on one at a time in the transfer panel. Again leaving a few seconds before switching the next on one.

    will Cutler Hammer breakers fit in the Seimens panel?

    Yes, the breakers will fit. However they are listed for use in CH panels, not Siemens and thus should not be used. You should install Siemens breakers.

    Yes. There is a safety interlock to prevent both breakers from being on at the same time.

    Yes, you can change the 60 amp breaker to a 20 or a 30 amp breaker as long as it is a Siemens plug in Q type breaker. I hope this helps.
