Rated 1 de 5 de par Terrible product I've used different water softeners and this one is the worst. I've had the same bag in the container for salt for 2 months the level hasn't changed but the quality of my water has. DO NOT USE JUNK JUNK JUNK!!!

Rated 1 de 5 de par Bags are tooooo heavy Seniors cannot manhandle 20 kg bags of salt. Please package in smaller quantities, no more than 10 kgs We do still live in our own homes.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Same Salt Bridge Problem !! I have always relied on Windsor System Saver II Pellets which are all a uniform size. I needed a bag and HD only carries the Sifto brand so I decided to try. I was uncertain about the varying pellet size but thought the product could not be marketed and sold if it did not perform as designed, but I was wrong and should have avoided. This product led to my first salt bridge formation and it took over 3 hours to break it up and remove the salt from the unit. Never again!!! Too bad I can't give it 0 stars. I will stick to the Windsor salt which I have used for 17 years without an issue.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Causes Salt Bridge I have been using this ever since my Home Depot switched suppliers, for about 2 years. The previous product was much better with no issues for over eight years. This product contains smaller pieces and I have had it dam up in the reservoir a few times. The only way to clear it is with a sharp metal stick and a hammer. My recommendation is to find a different product with larger pieces or only add 1/2 of a bag at a time in hopes of avoiding issues.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Great Crystal Salt Please be advised this product is crystal salt for water softner this is not the one with powder and glow. I always fill my water softner with this salt and it is pretty good, unlike other salts nothing sticks at the bottom of my softner so differently recommend this.

Rated 2 de 5 de par Prone to cause salt bridging in softener While the product contains larger-sized salt chunks, there is also a significant proportion of salt fines varying from powder to larger sizes. The smaller sized components of the product mix are prone to cause "bridging" of the salt supply in the salt hopper of the softener. This is more likely to happen in humid weather, but can happen at any time of year. The bridge can be hard to see because it is hidden under the top level of the salt charge. Once formed, it prevents the salt from reaching the brine at the bottom of the hopper. Once this happens no softening action will take place. It is also extremely hard to break up (I had to use a large wrecking bar). The product comes in a larger 40kg bag as well, but the larger bag is quite awkward to handle. If you must use this product it would be best not to add more than one 20kg bag at a time, and then only when the brine is beginning to be visible. At that time you can be reasonably sure that no bridge exists. The more salt in the hopper, the greater the chance of bridging. I plan to find another salt product that has larger chunks and fewer fines.

Can this be used on regular Culligan whole house water softnening system because the "resin" clean is not the usual ingredient in the manufacturer's salt recommendation ?

Posée par: SBC123
Yes you can. Culligan usually recommends their own 'rock' salt, which has impurities in it. I ALWAYS recommend using this type of salt to my customers, but keep in mind not to pack the salt tank full. Depending on salt consumption, we advise the tank to be kept minimum 1/4 full, maximum 2/3. It's perfectly fine to let the salt level drop down. If you see salt in the bin- you are in good shape!
