Rated 5 de 5 de par Good brackets Nice brackets, though expensive. You can buy them in workbench kit of 8 with screws included, and that is what I recommend over buying them singly. It is cheaper that way. I used mine to build an aquarium stand (see picture). These are galvanized, so if you paint them you can't use most spray paint without a special primer. I used acrylic latex paint, which is supposed to work with galvinized metal. It took about 3-4 coats.

Rated 5 de 5 de par quick and easy project I have always made my own platform bed frames out of 2x4's because I like to store big plastic totes under the bed. The last one was quite an involved structure that took me forever and I wanted to make something quick and easy this time. Cue these brackets. I had the donor project disassembled, the pieces re-cut and put back together as a queen size bed frame with an OSB platform in less than 3 hours using nothing but my impact driver and cordless circular saw right there in the bedroom. It was square with very little effort and it is rock solid with a minimal amount of wood. I also am in love with the Simpson wafer head screws. I thought they might be a gimmick, but they really do make installation a breeze compared to my old standby of drywall screws. The time saved and frayed nerves that they prevented made up for the increased cost. No one will ever guess what brutally practical hardware lurks underneath the bed skirt.

Makes construction very clean and easy. Ultra strong! I've a set that is probably 10 years old that's been on the garage work bench and they look as good today as the new set i just bought. You cannot build a rickety table if you use these. They are absolutely the best way to create a HEAVY DUTY work bench or shelf.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Provides rigid and true framework. Brackets provide a very rigid frame and all angles were very close to 90 degrees. Racking and twist once all screws were installed was almost non-existent.

Could these be used to make raised garden beds?

Could these be used to make raised garden beds?
Posée par: KRArkansas
Yes. If you are looking for the rugged look of braces. These are used for deck support and such so structure is not an issue. These come in multiple variations of 2x4s and 4x4s. As for a garden bed, if you want the look these connectors provide they are a great choice.

Yes, it can be used upside down. The attached picture shows the top of my work bench and if you wanted to have pieces at the bottom of the legs that can be done.

Could you use this to connect two 2x6 beams at a corner, resting on top of a 4x4 post?
Posée par: Craig
For a 4x4 post you will want to use Model # RTC42 which will support a 2x6 beam, or any 2 by for that matter. Model # RTC2Z only support 2x4 posts

Will these work in a 2x2 setup? George
Posée par: Shelver
I don't think so, they are specifically designed for 2x4s. There are several different connectors for 2x2...see the catalog via the link below. Not sure which ones home depot carries. http://embed.widencdn.net/pdf/plus/ssttoolbox/xd2mseqyql/C-C-2017-p355.pdf

Can you use any wood screws or do you need specific ones

Posée par: Stalker
Hi, Thank you for your question, The vendor have confirmed that RTC2Z connector requires specific screws - not any generic screws. You can use one of the following 2 options: SD8x1.25 (#8x1 ¼” wafer head screw) SD9112 (#9x1 ½” hex head connector screw)

Do you have connector for 4x4 lumber

Posée par: Hotrod

Can you use these as corner braces for a ground level deck? Knocking the point into the ground?
Posée par: kelli
It would be up to the Designer/Engineer of Record to specify the appropriate connector based on framing layout, demand loads, local building codes, etc., but I can tell you we can only support the installation of our products as designed/tested. In the case of the RTC2Z that would attached to a wood post and carrying the two size members. Also, other than the E-Z Spike, we do not recommend any of our connector products for below grade applications. Thank you!
