Rated 5 de 5 de par Works great, with a 6mm beveled washer I bought 4 of these to cap off old supply lines during a reno. You can't use them just by themselves. You need a beveled washer, just like in the connectors. Actual OD is 1/2 for a 3/8 cap. Make sure the bevel faces the connection.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Incomplete Product The product should not be sold as functional, without a rubber seal to fit inside the cap. As packaged and sold - it will leak. If it had a rubber seal - it would not leak. Workaround is to fashion yourself a rubber seal and insert into the cap. Then thread it on firmly and you are all set.

Rated 1 de 5 de par THIS CAP DOES NOT SEAL! AND TEFLON TAPE DOESN't WORK THIS CAP DOES NOT SEAL! AND TEFLON TAPE DOESN't WORK. Wish I had read the reviews - headed to local ACE this morning

Rated 1 de 5 de par Not a working compression fitting I bought this as a temporary measure to seal off my dishwasher inlet line connection so that I could use my sink while I waited for a new drain hose. The valve outlet leaked, so I pulled it off and looked again. It's not a compression fitting because it doesn't have anything that compresses (rubber washer, ferrule, etc.). Putting Teflon tape on won't help as it's only used on tapered fittings where the thread itself does the sealing. Am going to try buying the rubber washer suggested by Fixer to turn this into a compression fitting...

Rated 2 de 5 de par Leaks without a gasket. . .even with teflon tape The same as other users. . .buy a rubber washer or gasket with the cap or it will leak.

Rated 2 de 5 de par Needs a gasket! The first thing I noticed in the store was that there was no gasket or washer included with this. If you understand how compression fittings work, it's intuitively obvious that this particular item needs one. I asked the associate in the plumbing aisle about it, and he said I should use teflon tape. As if that's a viable solution, working under a sink in a cramped dark space with all kinds of plumbing and whatnot in the way. You can barely see the fitting in the situation I was working, much less get your fingers around it. And you're supposed to wrap teflon tape around the thing without making a mess of it? And then, when it's time to take the cap off and reconnect a supply line, you have to screw around trying to get all that teflon tape off again so it won't interfere with the compression fitting. The whole idea of a compression fitting is that you shouldn't have to use anything to seal the threads, because it seals automatically internally. Evidently some pointy-haired boss at Watts decided that they could save millions of dollars by not including a little rubber disk to make their product work right without a hassle. I asked the associate if they had any gasket or washer that I could buy separately, and he said they didn't have anything that small. Fortunately, I had one at home, so I got this to work anyway. The only reason I would recommend this product is that there doesn't seem to be any alternative available, and you can make it work by supplying your own washer. But the people at Watts should get their act together.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Works well when used with a rubber washer. Use an 1/2" 00 flat washer as Fixer suggested (see review below) and it works well. Why isn't there a washer included?
