Rated 5 de 5 de par Exactly What We Wanted We needed a simple, inexpensive warning/alarm to alert us when the garage door was open. This provided us with the choice of either a loud alarm, or a quieter alert, plus a blinking red light to notify us when the garage door was open. Quick and easy to install and works as indicated. Have had this installed for about a month and am very pleased with the results. Signal is transmitted through garage wall and an interior hallway wall to the receiver which sits in the t.v. room. Even if this only lasts for 6 months to a year, it is so inexpensive I wouldn't hesitate to replace it with the same model. We have had several thefts in the neighborhood because of unattended open garages, so we are now resting a little easier knowing we will be made aware when the garage door is open. Would definitely recommend this.

With two vehicles and an aluminum garage door, the signal would not connect. Had to build a bracket and move to the top side of garage door closer to receiving unit. Now it is about twenty-five feet away with two walls in between. Works about 95% of the time. For the price, I think it will work ok. The information says it will signal about 800 feet unobstructed. If it was unobstructed, you would not need the wireless garage door monitor, you would need binoculars.

Rated 2 de 5 de par Intermittent Operation I have had the remote alarm installed for about 4 weeks and was very pleased when I first installed the device. About 2 weeks after it was installed, the red light would flash an error code. I had to re-synchronize the switch with the base unit. After about another 10 days it happened again. The 2 devices are about 50 feet apart and well within the maximum range. If it fails again, I will try moving the base unit closer to the garage. If your garage door has a large horizontal reinforcement ridge at the bottom of the door, you will need to construct a mounting surface that is flat from the garage floor to at least 4" up the door.

The CR2032 (?) coin cell in the door sensor still works, and the signal extends far enough to reach across my house and the driveway. Installation was a no-brainer, at the bottom of the door. Just screw it to the bottom of the door, half an inch off the floor. I use the alert option, so the alarm noise doesn't wake up my wife in the next room, but is still loud enough to remind people in the room that the door is open. I haven't tried the loud option. Programming was quick, at my kitchen table before the installation. The $27 price was super cheap for this functionality. It's also extensible, with room for 3 more sensors, and the manufacturer doesn't look fly-by-night.

This seemed exactly what I needed--only wanted an alarm I could program to show lights and no audio alarm. Wanted to put it by my bed to have peace of mind that the door was secure before going to bed. It worked great for several days then got confused. I bought a fresher battery, moved it about 10 feed closer to the door. Same thing happened. Moved it even closer again. Worked 3 days and now can't depend on it. I even extended the antennae and taped it up the wall so nothing was getting in the way of reception but walls in the house. Still isn't dependable after the first few days of resetting it. I'm very disappointed in it. If it's not dependable, it's no use at all as a security alarm.

Be aware that the actual functional range is closer to 100 feet, not 800 as stated. But I finally found a suitable location in my house and it is working reliably. I had tried to call the company support line but after getting into their circular voice prompt system was disconnected. Finally found a way to leave a message, but it was never returned.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Very Helpful Tool The reason I got this tool was because we have a detached garage and I have to walk around the place to see if it accidentally got left open before night time. It happened to have been left open one night, and we actually had some things stolen from us. So I decided to use this unit and see how it would help. It does a great job at relaying information. Not the most technical, in an app world, but it does exactly as it says. It will notify when the garage door is open and when it is closed. You can choose sound or no sound which is also very helpful. All in all, great purchase if you want to know the status of your door.

I programmed both plunger type door sensors close to the monitor then tested bothnext to each door location at each end of the house approximately 40 ft. from themonitor. Both worked fine in my hand, but when I attached them to the metal doorswith the provided double stick tape they failed to work even with the proper plunger movement.I called the manufacturer and asked about metal doors and was told that the metaldoor partially block the wireless signal. May need to mount the sensors on wood. Iasked for details ( area / thickness ). Didn't know. I sent them back the next day.

Yes, you would need a sensor on each garage door.

In alarm mode, the receiver will sound for 3 minutes. In alert mode, the receiver will beep until the door is closed. You also have an option for Mute mode, while the visual alarm will blink red while the door is open. Visual alarm will flash red while open, and turn green when closed.

How do you get into your own garage without setting the alarm off?
Posée par: ARE
The house monitor has a switch on the back where you can disable the alarm while say you want to work in the garage with the door in the up position. You can also just set the monitor to be just a flashing light and not sound the audible alarm.

how does this mount on the garage door

The sending unit (pictured on the left) mounts with 4 small screws or double sided tape to the inside bottom of the garage door. It can be located anywhere along the bottom of the door, but traditionally it's put on the left or right side. I had to use a small wood spacer glued (construction adhesive) to the door to offset mount the unit in order for the plunger to clear bottom door seal extrusion. The retractable sensing plunger (the round object on the bottom of the unit in the picture) is about 3 inches long so there is a little wiggle room as far as height placement on the door. Fully extended when the door is up, and fully retracted hitting the floor when the door is down sends a wireless signal to the receiver unit in the house. I mounted my sending unit about 1 inch above the bottom of the door for in case the door could not close completely due to snow/ice obstruction. It's a stand alone product, very simple, and works great.

Uses a lithium 2032 3 volt coin battery, easy to install. A new battery lasts well over a year, but the extra door unit I purchased came with an old or defective battery and had to be replaced to work at all. I don't know how long a new battery will last since the battery that I replaced has not failed in well over a year.

I have 3 garage doors.

What parts do I have to buy to monitor these doors, Need only one monitor. Will that handle the three doors?
Posée par: Shelly
If you can buy an extra two sensors, the one alarm unit indoors can listen to 4 doors/sensors. You train the indoors unit with the sensors before you install them.
