The same amount of plastic should be re-styled to avoid some of the abrupt stress-concentrations while gripping the saw. If there is a next time, I will spend the extra money and get a more conventional frame. I used this throw-away version to saw off a KwikSet lock-set. The combined discomfort of the near-planar handle and the need to get my large hand close to the surface of the door convinced me that this was not the sort of tool that I enjoy using. A conventional saw-frame would have let me use the blade in cross-cut mode -- this was not possible with the 10" mini.

Rated 5 de 5 de par I love this saw! This is perfect for tight spaces. i used it for plastic water pipes. The blade is easily replaced using regular Stanley blades. Since half of the blade rests in the handle, you can turn the blade around and have sharp teeth to cut with again.

Rated 2 de 5 de par Too expensive This is s simple tool and works like it should, however, it is way too expensive for what you get. Some pot metal for a handle and a hacksaw blade. I wouldn't have bought it if I didn't need just that type of saw for a particular need.

Rated 3 de 5 de par useful tool We wanted to replace one board in the deck. However there were nails coming in from the side. We would have to destroy much more than we wanted to get the one board out. There was only enough space for a metal saw like this to work. And it did work by severing the problem nails. The only fault is the nut that tightens the saw to the handle is not designed well. There should be a bigger and tighter action.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Seems to be doing the job I needed it to cut 2 rusted bolts in the toilet tank, and the first one only took me about 30 min... the second one... it's taking more than an hour. Not sure if it lost its sharpness or I lost strength... but will keep trying after dinner and hopefully it works. And my hands remain in one piece : )

Rated 5 de 5 de par Exactly what I needed. Our little town of Cheyenne has several hardware stores. The only one to offer full customer service is our Home Depot. This is why I buy there. The only reason, really. I needed a tool to cut some aluminium stock in a very tight space. No room for even a dremel. Asked John at Home Depot for a solution, he showed me this. It worked perfectly. Now, is it for daily use as a hacksaw? No. The blade flexes and breaks too fast for that. But - for cutting metal or wood in a really tight space, it's perfect. Easy to change out the blade, too.

Rated 4 de 5 de par So easy even a lawyer can do it... My sister and I decided it was time to organize the utility closet and bought some wire shelving - which we needed to cut to size. We tried bolt cutters - as suggested by a fellow customer who was clearly in the trades... what a laugh - returned them and stuck with this little hacksaw we bought as a back-up. It easily cuts in the tight spaces between the tines of the shelving and while not as quick as bolt cutters would be in capable hands, it did the job for us very well. Great for weaklings!

Rated 2 de 5 de par The saw has an issue with the blade wanting to... The saw has an issue with the blade wanting to bend from side to side while cutting. Even pvc would cause it to bend. I specifically purchased for pvc work in tight places but had to go back to using my regular hack saw.

HOW TO ATTACH BLADE?

Posée par: AJM
There is a handle and a support arm. The blade fits into a slot on the handle, and there's a pressure screw on the support arm to hold it in place. I think there's some flexibility regarding the usable length of the blade.

Can it cut through a closet wooden clothes hanging rod? (about 1.25" in diameter, best guess)

Posée par: L747
It will do it, but it's not the right tool for the job. The saw teeth are fine and meant for metal. You'll be happier if you get something meant for wood.

Posée par: SOG
I haven't a clue. Even if you don't use it on the manifold, this little saw is nice to have around the house. As cheap as it, buy one and give it a try.
