Rated 5 de 5 de par Modern design We replaced all the baseboard heaters in our condo recently. Very glad we choose this model......sleek design and so much more efficient than the 30 year old units we replaced. As always, excellent service from Home Depot.

Hi, which heater covers are compatible with this product please?

Posée par: Laura
We are not sure we understand your question. Are you refering to the front cover panel of the heater or do you want to cover the heater completely? We recommend you contact the Stelpro team to clarify your request. 1-844-STELPRO (783-5776) ext. 8201 or 8203.

The question seems stupid - but my understanding is the standard power voltage for household in Canada is 110V, not 220V. Do I really need an extra transformer or there is a built-in one or wiring to make 220v heater work with 110v power source?

Posée par: Jerry
Standard voltage for heating in a home is 240V. When a house is built new, the heating generally will be 240V. If you are doing a renovation and adding heating, you have the possibility of installing a 120V or 240V unit based on what works best for you. A transformer is not required. A certified electricain can guide you with your options

The instructions indicate that the power connection is via the right junction box, but the power source is at the left junction box. Is it safe to connect the leads to the wires in the left junction box?

Posée par: Phil
It’s safe to connect to either. The heater has two options to connect to based on whatever is most convenient: left or right. You could also connect two heaters together by feeding from the left and connecting on the right or vise versa.

I am replacing a few old baseboard heaters of various wattage. 500, 750 and 1,000 watts. Do I need to buy the exact wattage in the new heaters, go lower in wattage or higher ? Are the newer heaters more energy efficient. Mine are 40 years pld. Thanks

Posée par: Glen
If the current heaters are providing enough heat to maintain the desired temperature in each space, there is no reason to increase the wattages of the heaters. The heating elements found in baseboard heaters don't fade away over time and will continue to give the same wattage until they burn out like a light bulb. Although the technology used in baseboard heaters has advanced over the years, they still remain 100% efficient in the sense that they will give 1 watt of heating energy for each watt of electrical enery consumed. This was true many years ago and is still true today. Newer baseboards are not necessarily more energy efficient. Energy efficiency is usually associated with the insulation in the home as well as the intelligent use of electronic style thermostats to control the heaters.

Are these hardwired, do they have individual thermostats, in the case of this 48” what is the suggested square footage it will heat? Are they high efficiency, what is the rating? Thank you.

Posée par: Lawdie
Yes these units are hard wired. You will bring in your electrical connection to the left or right junction box. The heater can be controlled by a built-in or wall thermostat. A built-in thermostat is required for each heater if you choose that option. A wall thermostat can control several heaters as long as it is in the capacity of the thermostat. Based on a general rule for heating of 10 watts per square foot (standard 8 foot ceiling), a 1000W baseboard can heat 100 square feet. Electric heating is 100% efficient, there is no loss of energy.
