[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These huge concrete anchors can hold virtually anything! Perfect for most masonry applications. I like these because it is easier to install than other types of anchors. They are rated for indoor and outdoor. If you need to install some wood framing on concrete, this is definitely the way to go. It gives you the confidence to mount anything on your walls when you use a high quality, durable anchor like this.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These concrete anchors are very strong and simple to use! I used these anchors to secure my wall base plate to my concrete floor in my new garage. I simply drilled a 1/2 inch diameter hole through the plate with a spade bit, then used my hammer drill to drill a 1/2 inch diameter hole into the concrete. Then I used a socket and ratchet to tighten the bolt until it fit snugly against the plate. Very easy to use and should last forever.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] And now for something really different. Going on the offensive. Or maybe just the fence. There was a section of fence that was not longer supported because the four by four had rotted at the level of the patio. I purchase some large right angle braces (available at Home Depot) and some Spax lags (also available at the Depot). I drilled into the concrete patio with my Bosch Rotary hammer and used these to attach the last two of the braces to the patio. The Spax connectors tied the right angle braces to the four by four. The four by four was now very stable. There are many options available for making such attachments. These are about as easy as it gets. (If you have a rotary hammer.)

Rated 5 de 5 de par [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Tapcon 1/2 in. x 6 in. Hex-Washer-Head Large Diameter Concrete Anchors (2-Pack) review: Tapcon makes GREAT products for securing anything to concrete! I have used them before and they always get the job done. This set is, IMHO, BIG concrete screws! Wow, I have never seen a concrete screw this large. You will need a rotary hammer drill to drill a pilot hole into concrete. Then, you will be best served by am impact driver to slam these puppies in! Be sure to drill the pilot holes about a half inch deeper so that concrete residue falling into the hole does not prevent full insertion of the screw. Also, BE SURE to vacuum out the hole in the concrete after you drill the pilot hole - VERY important. Love Tapcon products! There ya go!

Rated 5 de 5 de par [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is an excellent screw anchor. Quality design and machining heavy duty product. I have personally used smaller versions with excellent results. If you use the right drill you can successfully use them in any concrete or brick. And the hex-washer-head is actually a great thing, If you have an anchor without a washer you better have the right one, picture toolbox diving or crawling under the workbench looking for the right one. Time is money.

X 6 IN. HEX-WASHER-HEAD LARGE DIAMETER CONCRETE ANCHORS (2-PACK) back in July was able to use them this week. We put some more solar panels on the roof covering the pool patio which means more weight on the roof, so we had to put another support post to handle the weight. Using concrete anchors was easy, the one thing I would suggest is to make sure you drill a clean straight hole. I would recommend this product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These 1/2 inch by 6 inch hex-washer-head large diameter concrete anchors are monsters! For the right application these things will hold down anything! They have the serrated threads to make screwing these in a breeze. They are huge and hefty and super strong. If you need something big held into concrete, these should be your top choice. Just make sure you have the right drill bit to pre drill and a good drill.

I've seen 2 drill bit sizes, 7/16 and 1/2. Which is best? The 7/16 seems too small.

Posée par: DIYer
For these, it’s 1/2” (screw diameter and drill diameter are the same). This is straight from their website tech sheets (see below). I was also confused seeing 7/16” drill size for some 1/2” tapcons but I believe that is specific to Red Head Tapcons as the drill size is smaller than the screw diameters for that brand. And I’m not sure if that is the same company or what, but it looks like a slightly different tapcon product, so go with the official 1/2” for the original blue ones we all know. https://www.tapcon.com/getattachment/c47ad057-b81a-4d83-a614-f12316f1788a/tapcon_installation_instructions_3-16and1-4

Would these work in stucco?

I need a long fastener to anchor some 4x4 posts to a stucco wall. Open to other recommendations. Thanks!
Posée par: TW
Yes but not sure you will get the strength you need as stucco is 1/2 inch or so thick .i guess would work fine to hold in position
