Rated 5 de 5 de par Glad I finally bought this, great price compared similar products! I honestly love this pot, got it for some green by our front door and the height is perfect with our door and window setup. I love that it's made from recycled tires, it definitely smelled like them for at least a couple weeks, might even still smell like it but I don't notice. Also I put in a smaller pot so I wouldn't have to put in as much dirt and so I can move it easier if I wanted. Also gives a little flair at the top of the container. Since it's made from tires it's sturdy without being too heavy like ceramic but not flimsy and weak like plastic. We live in FL so I'm not worried about the sun/heat rotting like it would a plastic container.

I purchased 2 of these planters last year and was so happy with them that I ordered 2 more this year. They are very durable so I don't have to protect them during our brutal winters and hot summers in Wyoming. I am able to leave them outdoors year round. I did find smaller pots at our Home Depot that fit perfectly into the upper top of these pots that helped cut down on the amount of soil needed for planting. I do recommend that added weight be put in the empty space at the bottom of this tall planter because high winds can blow it over. I used big rocks. An added bonus is that all plant colors look good in this neutral shade of slate.

It does take alot of dirt, maybe good for balance, and its a spider and bug attractor. Every night i came home i would see 1 or 2 wolf spider next to it and a bunch of bugs that like wet moist area. When we switched to a different planter , i do not see anymore spiders. After we removed some dirt it had a horrible smell inside. Maybe if you use it somewhere away from doorways it might be ok. It didnt come with instructions how selfwateringvworks , I guess how it works as it holds a bunch of water on the bottom and feeds up.

Heavy Duty> Not sure about the "Self watering" since its a small reservoir in the bottom of a tall Planter but used some moisture control potting soil to give this feature all the help possible. A 50 Qt bag of Miracle-Gro potting soil will fill it with a little left over. Spouse spends a lot of time working at the office window so wanted a planter to make the flowering plants visible from inside. This design is simple, lighter than ceramic or clay, and modern looking.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Good iteam I'm a first time homebuyer and I was looking for a nice elegant planter to add curb appeal to my house. The self walterimg planter is awesome. Good, size, nice design.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Beautiful modern appearance Dimensions are great, nice height, slim appearance, great modern black planter which makes a professional design statement, looks great against brick walls, hardscape - good thick walls so little bowing out when filled as seen in cheaper pots. Good value but remember use that garden coupon and save some cash. Liked it so much I bought four!

This product has great lines, perfect for settings both indoors and outdoors where specimen plants show off a special space of your own. They are heavy enough to be really stable, and yet easily moved to change position as desired for particular settings! I used several to showcase a Zen-style water fountain in the foyer of an exciting new holistic studio I have just opened. I liked the planters so much, I bought several different sizes and what a spectacular result!! I was encouraged to continue the theme inside my studio, where I now have 7 of these planters in the meditation space and the effect with beautiful palms comfortably sitting inside each one has to be seen to be believed. A spectacular, flexible arrangement that meets my needs beyond expectations. I highly recommend these planters.

No one is sure if the drain plug should be in or out when the planter is outside. Would the company that created these planters please provide specific directions? I removed the drain plug. When I water, the water comes out the bottom. How does the self watering feature work if the water comes out? Please help.
Posée par: Gigi
Yes, take out drain plug if outside . When it rains it fills up with no way out.

To Multy Support Team: Please put instructions online. After reading all answers, I'm still confused about the following

Should roots extend into reservoir? How does soil above reservoir get moisture from below? Are stones useful to keep soil from falling into reservoir? Outdoors, keep plug in to self water, but remove to avoid risk of rain overfilling reservoir?
Posée par: Bobbomo
Please refer the our instructional video's on Homedepot.com

Do I remove the drain plug, then fill the water reservoir, put in the wicking basket, and then add the potting soil? There are no instructions with my planter.

HEY ANNE ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS PULL THE PLUG, PUT THE SQUARE TRAY (AS I CALL IT) BACK IN UNTIL IT FITS SNUG, POUR IN THE DIRT & THEN PLANT. YOU WILL LOVE THESE PLANTERS. THEY ARE STUNNING FOR ANY COLORS YOU CHOOSE & HAVE THAT CHIC LOOK TO THEM. ENJOY DARLEEN

Would this material do well with holding water? I want to use this as rain collection by sealing holes and adding a spiget.

Will this hold water or is this recycable material more susceptible to cracking?
Posée par: Taut
I don't think so because the material is like a compressed composite and I don't know how water will be like sitting in it. It looks like it would seep in.

I would like to just place this pot on front porch under a roof. I plan to not open bottom plug to protect our porch paint job. I'd like to just place a purchased hanging basket example setting into top. Is there a idea how I can do this without it falling down into the pot? Other company products have a shelf to use for this purpose, but I don't think yours does. What I love about your product is I can leave it on porch all winter.
Posée par: Jane
I’m not sure if you are considering a living plant or an artificial plant. If artificial, you could get a bag of decorative garden rocks, place some in the bottom of the planter to weight it down then fill the middle with plastic bubble wrap pushing it in tightly near the top, place your basket on top the bubble wrap, then fill around the base of flowers/plant in basket with a bit more of the decorative rocks. That should make it substantial enough without filling it with dirt to stay put and the rocks around the basket should stabilize the basket in the actual planter. Using the plastic bubble wrap in the middle keeps it from becoming too heavy if you want to move the planter around. If you are talking about a live plant, I don’t see why you couldn’t just fill it with dirt like instructed in the video, leave room to place the basket in the top and stabilize the pot/basket with additional dirt filling out to the sides of the planter.

Do you need to punch hole in bottom of planter

Posée par: Missy
No there is already a hole with a rubber plug. Since there is no way to tell how much water is in it it is very easy to fill it up. I'd tild it over and pull out the plug once a week to drain excess water above the bottom water "self water" compartment. Really a lot of trouble and I would not buy one again.
