Rated 1 de 5 de par Failed to work [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The trap came without the recommended attractant gel, so I used peanut butter instead, as suggested, but for about a week the trap was just sitting there. A few days later, when I checked it again, the peanut butter was totally gone, as if an animal licked every bit of it, but the trap did not trigger. The funny thing is that when I tried to carefully pick it up, the trap snapped immediately. I cannot imagine that an animal (rat?) was so gentle as to be able to lick every bit of bait without triggering the mechanism, which was triggered when I picked up the trap. I think that the trap mechanism needs further improvement.

Rated 1 de 5 de par One Star is too Much Credit This was a terrible product. I had so much trouble setting it, and then found out that the pin didn't fit right. I had to get out the pliers and bend it a bit. This should come ready to go. I shouldn't have to do their job. Someone is slacking on their end. I did get it working. They are set, and I returned two that I didn't open. I bought two Victor traps. They even look better made. I actually like the one that's easier to set up; less chance of breaking a finger for a dollar more. Two bad people read these reviews after buying crap like I did.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Equalizer [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Heard something tip , tapping up in the attic one night so we decided to put the TomCat to the Test. We took it out of package to make sure that all moving parts were ready for the Call of Duty. We placed what we thought would be the tasty morsel for a Mouse or Squirrel which was a peanut butter and cheese sampling on the breast plate. Set the trap and placed it on one of the border boards in the attic. Did not hear anything that night but the next morning checked the trap and found the critter met its match. Thank you TomCat its quite again at the house.

Rated 5 de 5 de par The trap works well [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This trap works well and is exactly as stated in the product specifications. I would also add that it not only works on rats, but as an extra bonus it also is well suited to catch those pesky Ground Squirrels. I have found that peanut butter spread on the pad works very well for both. I have used the Tomcat product in the past for ground squirrels and had fair success using them; so they also work, and may be somewhat easier to set. But they are also a bit more expensive. Depends on ones preference. Both work very well.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Heavy Duty Trap [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this as a sample product in exchange for my review. The trap is made of very sturdy wood and mechanisms. I live in a subdivision that has weeds in the rear of the property and we have a problem with mice and rats, living in our garage. We generally put down rat poison, but this trap will surely stop a fat rat in its tracks. I set the trap and place peanut butter on the area where the bait goes, and placed it in an area where we see evidence (feces droppings) that they are present. Now, to wait until one comes along to take the bait. I would recommend this product to be place in areas wherever you see droppings.

Rated 1 de 5 de par Don’t even waste your time buying it! I brought this trap today and spent over 30 mins trying to set it! The pin wouldn’t set in grove and it wouldn’t stay on top of the loop! Tried setting the 2nd trap and the same thing happened! The company made the video look so easy, but that wasn’t the case in reality! They need to make the hook on the bait easier to latch! Needless to say, I got so frustrated that I broke the baits part of the traps trying to hold it higher so that groove could match the pin! This product was a waste of time, money and energy! Don’t even bother using it!

Rated 1 de 5 de par do not waste your money! After seeing a rat (no, not a mouse) scamper into the fireplace air circulation channel, I loaded the trap with generous serving of peanut butter. The rat licked it clean (as a whistle!) without setting off the trap. Then I mashed cheese into the bait holder and put peanut butter on that and on the wood underneath. The rat again ate all the cheese and licked the trap so clean you wouldn't believe any bait was ever placed. I'm trying again after remembering from childhood on the farm that a quick trigger can be adjusted by partially pushing down the bait holder. Oh, by the way, the rat did not touch the TomKat rat poison despite being contained in the vent without food. I'd blocked her escape.

Rated 3 de 5 de par Good Quality but Intimidating [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This seems to be a good quality trap. Sturdy and well made of wood and metal. It was a bit intimidating though baiting it and pulling the trigger wire back and trying to position it properly in the mechanism. Unless you get it just right in the grove it won't work . Also if the trap is accidentally triggered while putting it down in place you risk it slamming shut on your fingers. It could easily break a finger with the size that it is. Perhaps this is more suited for a male to set this than a female as I was afraid when setting it that it would go off on my hand. In addition to this as of this writing it has not caught any critter.
