Rated 5 de 5 de par Relatively easy to use. Excellent controls/ features. We had two instances to use this in the 1- month we had it. The first time was a 3 or 4 inch slushy snow, and it performed better than I expected. It cleared the mess very well. The second time was after the "Blizzard of 2013" , that left about 35" of snow (not counting the 4 to 5 foot drifts). The machine was not designed to cut snow that deep, but with several passes, and knocking the drifts down with a shovel, the Toro snowblower operated flawlessly. It was easy to control and handled almost 4 hours of continuous operation with little to no strain on the engine. Extremely pleased with the design (no clogging), and the controls.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Good machine Seems to be well made and designed well. Assembly appears more complicated than it actually is. Starts easily, handles well, and all controls are very conveniently located and simple. Both wheels are drive wheels--it shipped with only one engaged--works much better with both wheels engaged. It doesn't chew through the slushy plowed stuff at the end of the driveway like my neighbors' bigger more powerful machines do, but I think that has to do with the class and engine size... This class requires a couple passes on the chunky icy stuff. At this point I'm satisfied with the machine, and would buy it again. Time will tell if it is dependable.

Rated 5 de 5 de par A Good Solid Machine. This Toro has all the features I need for fighting New England Winters. We had it shipped to our house, and it came well boxed, and setup was easy; no more than 20 to 30 minutes. It shipped with oil in it, so we added fresh gas, and it started right up running nice and smooth. We shut it down and awaited the coming storm and 2 days later, we got 14 " of snow, as well as a 2 to 2 1/2 foot wall of packed snow left in the mouth of our driveway by the city plows. The Toro self propelled itself through all of it without a hiccup. We took small chunks from the snow wall at first, but once started made short work of that too. I can honestly say I'm not worried about whatever snow comes our way with this beast sitting next to our house.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Reliable. We have an old Toro single stage that is very reliable and has required very little attention regarding maintenance over the years. We had read reviews of other brands that use less reputable engines having trouble starting after a year of use and storage. Briggs & Stratton make reliable engines, so the combination of the good experience we gave had with our older model Toro and the reliability of the Briggs & Stratton sealed the deal. The machine itself is a bit difficult to handle when turning but I'm sure with some practice one will get better at it. Snow removal is great and throwing distance is superior!

Rated 4 de 5 de par So Far So Good... Received the shipment on promised day of delivery. Assembly instructions were a little vague but very easy. I would guess less than 30 minutes. Started on the first pull. Tested it in about 3 inches of snow and took it through a three feet tall old pile of snow, cut through it no problem. Hopefully with some regular oil changes it will last for 8+ years and will be a good value. Did not come with cord to plug it into the wall but I am starting to suspect that it is just a standard extension cord... It should be easy enough for my 125lb wife to use.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Owners manual does not adequately cover common maintenance needs. I e-mailed Toro with a simple question about a common maintenance issue that was not covered in the manual (case #2637354). I basically got a non-response via e-mail and by phone when speaking with Shalaya who was poorly informed about the issue. Basically, I wanted to know whether the bolts that connect the auger to the shaft were special 'shear' bolts or common grade 3 bolts as they appear to be. If these are meant to be special shear bolts, they should be plainly identified as such in the owners/repair manual since they are an item that will need to be replaced frequently.

Rated 4 de 5 de par Toro makes an excellent product My old Toro snowblower has lasted 18 trouble free years and is running strong. I've given it to my youngest daughter. The only reason I purchased a heavier machine is because I just had back surgery and can't afford to be falling down as I did a couple of times with the older one. I've used the new Toro a couple of times now and the only problem I've encountered is I can't start it manually I have to use the electric start.

Rated 2 de 5 de par The Power Max 724 OE 2-Stage Snow blower is a fair one. I bought the Power Max 724 OE 2-Stage Snow blower in January, 2013. This snow blower has some problem. First, the discharge chute can not be turned smoothly. I have to spray it with WD-40. Second, when I use the snow blower to clean the slope driveway, it is hard to control the speed. I used the self-propel drive and set the speed selector lever to the position 1, the slowest position, but this snow blower still worked like the freewheeling drive on the slope. I emailed the Toro company twice, and had to wait for a couple of weeks to get a non-solution reply. I will not recommend this snow blower to other people.

how much assembly is required when it is delivered

Posée par: dancers2
Assembly is very easy. You will need to install the chute and the linkage. If you really take your time, you should be done in about 45 minutes. Instructions are very clear. Hope this helps!

I did not use last year because no snow. Wont start when I use the pull rope. Any ideas?

Posée par: Bob
If you had any gas stored in the machine from last year, you'll want to remove it and put fresh gas in it. Good luck!

What is the meaning of "gas/electric starter"?

Posée par: Sue
It means that it is a gas engine that has an electric starter. All you need is an extension cord that plugs directly into the snow thrower for starting. Push a button, it starts right up, and then you unplug the extension cord. It also has a pull start option that works very well too. Hope this helps!
