Rated 5 de 5 de par [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was the easiest router I ever set up. I logged in with the default parameters supplied on a little card, and changed the network name and password to match my old one. Then I restarted it, and all my devices connected. Has all the options for port-forwarding and whatnot, as well as a usb port that can be used as a print server. I haven't seen that before on a router in this price class. I also set the option to have it reboot itself every night. Regular re-starts can head off a lot of problems, I was glad to see this option. Speeds and range are good, with three big external antennas. Also, it runs much cooler than my old one, which means it is using less power, 24 hours a day. So far, no complaints at all.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] At a great price point, this router delivers speed and ease of use. In fact, the interface is so easy it may surprise. Good range, it appears reliable with maintaining connections and speed. You can configure using the "Tether" app via your smartphone. We stream, game, the shaboodle with no problems. I am sure there are other routers that can do the same things and more, but for more money. I like this router because it does everything I need, at a price I think is super-reasonable. It is a surprisingly small unit, drawing little power; it does not heat up. I can't say more except plug it it, see that it installs easily, see that it works.

Spectrum came out to diagnose our problems because we was not getting the 400 mbps speed that we are paying for. The tech tried Spectrums own router and that gave us 450+ mbps on wireless. This router only gives us about 350 mbps when plugged into the ethernet, but when we unplug the ethernet and go wireless our speed drops down to about 70 mbps. Not sure why we are getting such slow wireless speed with this router, but the tech said something is wrong. We bought another one from a different Seller and got similar results so I say this router doesn't work very well with Spectrum for some reason.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Router/Access Point is from TP Link on of the better routers out there. Setting the Router is easy thru using a Computer attached to the TP Link or thru a Mobile Application downloaded thru your Android/IOS smartphone. Installation and up time was accomplished in less than 10 minutes using a Web based browser. Follow the easy setup instructions - have a user name for the SSID in mind, there is a default and you need to come up with a password to enter the Router later on. My issue with the device is the slow download speeds despite connected to a Gigabyte modem. When I got the router up and running I tested the up and download speed on my laptop using a 5.0G Connection on my Smartphone, less than 10 feet away from the TP Link; I found the speeds to be 140 Mbps download and 203 Mbps upload speeds thru the wireless Connection. A direct connection from the Verizon Gigabyte Modem, I was getting 995 Mbps down and 998 Mbps upload on my laptop. So I placed a spare NET-GEAR Nighthawk AC1900, in the same place, using the same cables and connectors - I received 285 Mbps download speed and 302 Mbps speeds on the upload on a Wireless 5.0G connection. You should not expect Gigabyte Download/Upload speeds on a 5.0G connection on the wireless but in comparison with a same or similar router, they should be about the same. The TP Link test at 103% less than the Netgear on Downloading and 48.7% less on the upload speed. The direct connect speeds from the TP Link into my Laptop tested in the low 100's download versus the 600's on the Netgear.

can i ues express vpn with this unit
Posée par: united
You can use any VPN your wish with this device. The router is just the method that you receive and send wireless signals, or wired signals, from your computer to your modem. Your modem then connects with the internet via your service provider to send and receive your signals. The VPN software just keeps your signals private.

Say I?d u don?t have a router cause you live in a apartment with there own Wi-Fi can u still use this

Posée par: Kale
If your Apartment building provides its own wireless/internet service that all tenants share you would need to confirm two things with them. 1. That you have the ability to connect another network device to their network. 2. How the connection can be made. In most cases each apartment should have its own ethernet jack but operators may choose to just provide wireless in these cases you would be better served with an Range Extender and just setting your own SSID.

You can always use an extra ROUTER 1. If your existing one is old 2. If you have way too many devices on your existing one and this would be additional dedicated to other devices 3. This particular device has its own application At the end of the day if place is big you might need an additional router or an extender. I don't trust extenders I would rather use an additional router.
