Rated 5 de 5 de par Homestead must have Works very well. Low power consumption. Perfect for my 300 watt solar system.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Larger than expected I took a chance purchasing this fridge. I wasn't sure 6 cu. ft. was going to be large enough. I have a cabin in northern Wisconsin. I use it most weekends with my wife and an occasional teenage son. As soon as I removed the packaging, I could tell this will be the perfect size to hold our food, without wasting energy. I am currently using a single 100 watt solar panel on two deep cycle batteries. The first night of use, I turned the fridge on for the initial cooling. I also ran my 32" 12volt tv and a DVD player. The fridge is located within the same room where I was watching movies. The fridge is very quiet. The 12 volt fan I use for the wood stove makes more noise than this fridge. Kept the fridge running all night and had no loss of power. I am looking forward to keeping this full and running it all summer. It will be great to keep the beer cold!

After opening the package I noticed several dents in the side, a dent in the too left corner of the freezer door, and a crack in the lower plastic exterior trim of the freezer door. Very unhappy with this and expect a replacement or partial refund.

They lost it at Home Depot. Someone put it in the wrong place. The staff member helping us with pick-up did not give up and continued to look for it for more than half an hour until it was found.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Investissement à prévoir Très important de noter que ça prend panneaux solaires d’au moins 3000 watts et 4 batteries 6 volts pour fournir ce réfrigérateur donc d’autres coût important

Rated 5 de 5 de par A decent little fridge Quiet, battery draw is low, and the beer is cold!, a different color outdoor be nice but it’s for our cabin so not a big deal

I plan on putting this in a school bus conversion. Will it be ok to drive bumpy roads?  It’s a school bus so I’m not going up goat trails. Would you need to let the refrigerant settle ?

Posée par: Robbear
The 170L Solar DC Fridge is not certified for use in an RV or school bus. You would need to find a way to anchor the fridge down as for proper operation the fridge needs to be level at all times.

Do the doors on this unit clip shut so they don’t open on travelling

Posée par: Hogg123
No, there are no locks or clips on our Unique Solar DC Fridge. If the unit is transferred, please ensure it is on it's side or in the box would be the best case scenario as the packaging will help.

Can this unit also plug into 120v AC Outlet

The manual states DO NOT plug this unit directly to AC power however it shows an optional AC Power cord (sold seperatly - for on-grid use) ?
Posée par: Digg
Our 6 cu/ft Solar DC model is deisnged to be used with DC power or through a battery system. If you would like to use with 110V AC power, then you will require the AC adapter (sold separately). Please contact Unique Appliances for more informaiton.

I have a 24 volt system 4-6volt agm batteries and 2 185 watt panels, running all power thru. 4000 watt sine wave inverter with charge controller etc. does this fridge require DC power or 110 thru the inverter? Not sure how to wire it up if only DC which would save the 20% power loss thru the inverter. Our existing electric fridge is very inefficient and uses a lot of power when cycling, requiring a generator battery charge about every 3 days if it’s sunny. Would prefer this over a propane fridge our next option.
Posée par: Akfishr
This fridge can be wired directly to the 12VDC system.

I have a 400 watt 12. Volt solar system with a 122 amp hour deep cycle battery. Would this be enough for 24/7 use

Its It's for a off grid cabin
Posée par: Wilky
The specs. List the Frig Draw = 19.8 amphours/24 hrs You have a Battery Energy stored of 122 ah maximum. Assuming the Frig is set to the Control Temps listed in the specs. if they are realistic (set to -14°C freezer/+4°C fridge performance in a +25°C ambient ), then figure your Total Battery Energy ah divided by the Frig ah usage during a 24 hr period. Math is 122ah/19.8ah = 6 days. That's if ONLY your Frig was running on the Battery, it would run for 6 days without any Sunshine on your Array to recharge your Battery. If you have lithium you can handle a deep cycle to 5 or 6 days, Lead Acid you'd probably set your controller to disconnect the batter after 3 days. If someone else has a better answer please post it . GOOD LUCK !

Does this refrigerator need to remain level while operating? What is the limit, how far can it be tilted and still work?

Older refrigerators in an RV could not be tilted or the compressor or other component would fail
Posée par: RJ
Works in my Sprinter fine. A person could probably tilt the compressor a bit if needed but this compressors are the best money can buy in 12 volt & are used in boats & rv etc. I wouldn't worry

I have (2) 280watts solar panels and one golf cart battery will this work for this refrigerator

Posée par: Kathy
It would with 1 more golf cart battery wiring them in series making both batteries 1 to put out 12 volts. Golf cart battery is considered a 6 volt. Fridge need 12 or 24 volt.
