[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] In my beach home, we never drank the water It was downright awful, It was so bad you couldn't even make coffee with it. Thanks to this filter, I can not only make coffee with it but i can drink it from the included spigot. Installation is a project most any DIYer could handle with minimal tools and with the good instructions included should take about an hour at most... I figured the price divided by the cost I'm paying to have bottled water delivered that this will pay for itself in 4 months or less. This is a home improvement that not only improves your home but your health as well,,,

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After my husband installed this unit, (and according to him the installation was relatively easy and straight forward, good instructions, definitely no problem for an avid do it yourselfer!) I now get to enjoy water that is 100 percent improved in taste. I use this water out of the tap now, instead of the bottled water we used to buy, enormous savings in cash as well as not contributing to the pollution of our world with discarded plastics, so that adds to my sense of being a good steward of our environment. Who would have thought all this can be accomplished with one little unit?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you are looking for a very easy to install Reverse Osmosis water treatment system... 4 AMAZING FILTERS. this is it! Reverse Osmosis Water treatment System can be installed by most Do It Your selfers. Very easy and friendly. Quick change filters can be removed from the system and you do not have to worry about any water leaking (you don't have to turn off your water main line for filter change). All hardware and the faucet are included with the system as well, not pictured. Operates at 40-100 psi, so this will work just fine in the average home. Over 23 Gallons Per Day produced. Very adequate is i may say. And overall... GREAT TASTING WATER!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The only big problem came when I unpacked the unit before installing. One of the hoses was defective and required a trip to Home Depot for more tubing. Another issue is only for me. I do not like press fittings for tubing. I have found they leak after a few years. This unit was replacing a 10 year old system. The installation was fairly easy and straightforward. You do need to read and follow the directions. The installation requires a long cleaning cycle, so plan ahead. This unit looks much easier to change filters on than the older unit. The water is very clear and has no odor or taste. A very nice, compact unit. I look forward to years of service.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Vitapur Four Stage 23.3 GPD Quick Connect Reverse Osmosis Water Treatment System is easy to instal and the water is fresh tasting and pure. I replaced an older unit from a different manufacturer, but the install was a simple switch out of a couple of hose connections and a faucet. I actually decided to use my old faucet because it matched the rest of the fixtures after I switch out the new faucet and found the it just didn't look quite right. I love the taste of the water, as do my wife and family. We do have a whole house filter that filters out most solids, as well as a water softener, so this is the final stage for cooking and drinking water.

There is a huge difference in water taste with this effective water treatment system. The installation was relatively quick and easy. Despite the fact that the small space under my kitchens sink made it just a little bit uncomfortable, it was still fairly workable. The entire kit comes with everything to successfully install the ROS. Depending on where you will install it, you will need a few tools and teflon tape. I made two changes to the system: (1) I connected the clean water to my refrigerator water line and to a cooling dispenser instead of the countertop faucet. (2) I directed the drain line (waste water) to a barrel for outside irrigation, cleaning and other non-consumption uses. With this layout, the system should pay for itself since we buy a lot of bottled water. The water quality produced by this ROS is excellent for drinking, storing in drinking bottles, and cooking. I sometimes use this water on my indoor plants because the city water has chlorine chemical and other contaminants that might harm them. Undeniably, this system is very useful and I am very satisfied with it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Outstanding for do-it-yourselfers!!! Filters are easy to change and lock in securely. To change filters simply slide the locking tab to the unlock position and turn the filter about 1/4 turn and BAM, it pulls out easily. Simply reverse the procedure to install new filter AND filters are color coded to prevent confusion. The water line tubes AND the connection points are also color coded. Can it be any easier??? Thoughtful engineering allows the filter holder to swing out to 45 degrees to make changing easier. Everything is included to install, all water lines and fittings and even the screws to attach filter holder to wall. NOTE: To make installation easier I inserted all tubes before I hung the filter holders. That way I did not have to struggle while under cabinet. CHECK ALL SCREWS from the factory. I found some loose ones. One was the inlet valve for the storage tank. The open/shut valve lever was nearly off because that screw was very loose. I replaced an old 3 stage RO system that I can no longer obtain filters for under our kitchen sink. The filters and holder on this new system only takes up about half the space as the old one PLUS I can hang the filter holder up high leaving the bottom of cabinet open so we can store things about 6 inches tall right under the filters. And you can buy replacement filters from a number of different stores. The storage tank is the same height as the old one but smaller around giving more room. I made a small open ended platform to set the tank on so things can be stored under it also. Really made my wife happy and that alone makes the cost and work well worth while. Drink your water in good health my friend!

Does this system treat the whole house or just one faucet?

Posée par: Dju55
It needs special plumbing and faucets. If your house is plumbed for that then yes. It is only for drinking water though. Will only process about 23 gallons every 24 hours. Photo is under kitchen sink.

Can this be connected directly to kitchen faucet supply? (eliminating extra faucet supplied)

Posée par: bathremodel
Yes, it can but that is never a good idea. Take for example if you have a leak in the RO system and it takes days before you get around to fixing it. You will have no cold water at the tap either. Your local plumbing code may also require one.

Am I the only one who can't find replacement cartridges for the RO-4Q system. Why is this so? Is there a comparable cartridge from another vendor? Why would HD sell a system that has no replacement cartridges?

Posée par: MikeW
Thank you for your recent inquiry with The Home Depot. For replacements or parts, it is recommended to contact the vendor directly, for they can utilize your warranty. We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you in the future.

Posée par: Mike
Reverse Osmosis will generally remove salt, manganese, iron, flouride, lead, and calcium (Binnie et. ... Most mineral constituents of water are physically larger than water molecules and they are trapped by the semi-permeable membrane and removed from drinking water when filtered through a RO. We live in Florida where the water is pretty hard. In the 2+ years I have had the unit they has been no built up in any of the appliances I connected it two. We use it for drinking/ cooking water. It does not provide water to the whole house. The unit is not big enough for that. So we soften the main lines for the Shower etc.. As long as the softener is working we get little built up. But we do get some. You may want to consider a whole RO.
