The four stage reverse osmosis water treatment system is just what I have been looking for. For the price, this product is solid and a compact space saving design and was not too difficult to install for a novice handy man. The color coded tubing really did make for easy installation. This system is designed to filter water by reducing TDS and contaminants such as chlorine, fluoride, pesticides, salt, cysts, turbidity, taste and odor on the molecular level. Yes, it is possible all of this is in your drinking water. Just in case you are going to install the system yourself and do not have the tools, here is a list of tools needed to install the product: 1. DRILL BIT 1/8', 3/16', 1/4', 3/8' AND 1/2' & 1 1/4' SAW HOLE BIT 2. VARIABLE SPEED DRILL (CORDED OR CORDLESS) 3. SLOTTED AND PHILLILPS SCREW DRIVER 4. 2 ADJUSTABLE WRENCHES 5. NEEDLE NOSE PLIERS 6. TEFLON PIPE TAPE 7. SAFETY GLASSES 8. UTILITY KNIFE 9. LEVEL (SMALL, ABOUT 8-12 INCHES) Good luck and enjoy your new system. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Attractive price for a basic NSF rated Reverse Osmosis water treatment system. Installation using the diagram and directions was straight forward and I suggest adding a bit of extra tubing to make it easier to periodically access filters and membrane during the replacement intervals The Reverse Osmosis membrane costs ~$30 and needs to be replaced approximately every 2 years and the other filters (carbon block and granulated carbon and sediment) are supposed to be replaced every 6 months so the annual cost is ~$75 per year. I expect that selling the whole Reverse Osmosis unit for an attractive price will be a path to profit for them selling filters and membranes One downside of Reverse Osmosis units is that they reportedly waste about 10 units of water for each unit of water produced. With this in mind I think I will go back to my carbon block filters by general ecology/seagull and Multipure that improve taste and keep minerals and have no waste water for a similar filter price per year. If one of the two filters is removed you will see the nasty amount of sediment it takes out. The filters are standard 8" , readily available and cheap compared to twist and pull out filters which are easier but twice the cost. Be sure to assemble as much of this before pushing under the sink with five gallon holding tank. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 de 5 de par By itself this is a fairly nice product, well made, and well designed. I recommend with reservation because this is like buying an inkjet printer - they just about "give" you the unit, then make a fortune selling filters for the thing. Without any real use it's hard to tell how long filters will last, but the documentation suggest 6 to 12 months. At roughly $30.00/filter, that's a lot. Basically I could just buy a new unit every year. Also note, while the tank appears very well made, it is plastic, and rated only at 50 psi. Should be ok, most houses use a pressure regulator set about 40 psi. My reservations are only due to filter cost, and not knowing how often they would need to be replaced. Also, with a 3 or 4 stage filter, do you need to replace all filters? I would assume the first one in the line would need replacement sooner? [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Our house is older and does not have the "loop" for a whole house RO set up. I already have 2 of these point-of-use ro systems in place. All three of them are different and not in any way interchangeable. Now that we have been using the purely filtered water for a number of years it would be very hard to stop using after noticing the huge difference in water quality. All of our house plants, the dogs, the cars, the people, etc. are all accustomed to the ro water and its benefits as opposed to the city water which is very hard where we live. I put this one under a wet bar I built 15 years ago and it works well and already getting used often. My reason for not giving the full 5 stars is due to the fittings even from the same manufacturers are still different and can be problematic when attempting an install or even an upgrade. I was lucky this time with my arsenal of fittings that I did not have to make a trip to the store. After installing this newest system I pulled out my trusty ppm meter and it registered a resounding 0 parts per million; whereas my city water has well over 150 ppm of who knows what. Glad to have it where I really needed another one. Thanks [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

From functionality standpoint - this is a decent RO system for city use or well water. We have installed several systems in the past (city and well) and this Vitapure is a solid product. Most components are made of plastic except for hanging bracket (yes, the tank is plastic as well - we were surprised, as most are made of steel). Did not utilize the instructions, as everything made sense from schematics (see photos). Total installation took about 1 hour. If you are a DYIer - this is going to take 2 hours max. No need for additional trips to Home Depot for additional parts - everything is included. Although we did find a brushed nickel RO water faucet (to match our sink faucet) and installed that instead of the provided chrome one. If installing under a sink - be prepared to allocate space for the tank, hang filters (on a bracket) on one of the walls. Check the fitment of connections (very easy to connect by pushing in and pulling out a bit - it's locked). If you have a fridge on the same side as your sink - recommend a T to be installed to split for faucet and one line to run to your fridge water dispenser. After a couple of hours since installation - check for leaks. After filling-up teapots, the RO system will run filtering water and discharging most into your piping - recommend to install connection for discharge as low as possible from the sink. Otherwise - you will hear water "running" from the sink for quite a while until it fills-up the tank. Just a word of advice - when you replace your filters (every 6 months recommended), have some clear grease available to put around o-ring. That will keep the life of o-ring a lot longer and will prevent future leaks/damage. Filters are available on HD website - very affordable. Compared to other RO systems, these filter tubes are not clear plastic, so you are not able to see how dirty (and quickly) they get. Another word of advice. RO water is great, but it contains NO MINERALS. We do need some minerals for our bodies (magnesium for example). Although fluoride or chlorine are some of the last ones you probably need for your family health... So, there is a give-and-take in usage of RO systems. For the price and ease of installation - we recommend this system for DYIers as a great weekend project! RECOMMEND! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I had another reverse osmosis water treatment system and the tank failed to hold pressure. I decided to go with this 4 stage 23.3 gpd reverse osmosis water treatment system rather than just replacing the tank. I had it changed out in about an hour. I was a very easy change out. I think the water taste better than the old one did. I had always maintained the system as required. When this one goes bad I will try to find another one just like it. Finally, a easy-to-install, R/O Water Treatment System that anyone can afford. This took less than 45 minutes to install. I mounted it inside the base cabinet under the kitchen sink and I can see that changing the filters will be a quick and painless process going forward. I have since tested the water using a Hand-held tester that comes with a Zero brand filter and the R/O water has been reading Zero "0.000" with ever test. The water smells good, looks good and tastes good. I'm very happy with this product. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
