I was not impressed with the cheaper ones so I ordered this one. I picked it up at Home Depot and it was in mint condition (no dents as some reviews stated) and the lid fits securely yet comes off easily enough when I take it off to dump new ashes in. I am totally satisfied with the price and quality of this product! In the photo you can see it is quite large and easy to dump the ashes from the stove's ash pan to the bucket.

I was quite put off when I got a bill from UPS for the import fees that were as much as the pail... I ordered on the Canadian website and there was no mention of fees... I would not have purchased. Not cool Home Depot Canada.

Large enough to let us accumulate several stoves worth of ashes during the snow/ice storm we just went through. I hesitated due to the cost, but after getting it, I am VERY happy I got the bucket. It is a MUST for anyone with a wood stove.

We are getting use out of it, storing ash from the wood stove to bring to the garden.

I want to say that my lid doesn't fit tightly.  For example, if I were to place the lid on an empty container and turn it upside down, then the lid would fall off.  Is my lid/container defective?
