[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Winegard has been around for more than 40 years. They have always made a quality product and this is no exception. Easy to assemble, install and works well. My previous indoor antenna would get 28 channels at best. This antenna mounted outdoors gets 48 channels......all local of course. Bear in mind that you will have to run a coax (RG6 or RG59) from the antenna to the TV. That is the hardest work for myself. The value in this antenna is being able to cut the cable if you don't need premium channels or at least you can reduce your bill from the satellite providers. Also the over-the-air channels are generally HD. I would recommend this product!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Assembly instructions are straight forward any easy to follow and complete, I have several concerns about how much black plastic is used overall. Time will tell how well it holds up in the Phoenix climate. The initial channel scan found 64 digital channels. The most notable missing channels were the Phoenix NBC channel 12.1 and ABC channel 15.1. I added the amp and the extra coax cable required but not provided. I ran the second channel scan and found a total of 94 digital channels. All missing channels were found plus many more. Reception on all channels was excellent. Wind can be an issue with loose fitting plastic mounts for UHF rods. They will probably be rattling in the wind since they are not very well secured. Too much plastic used. Black plastic parts may be an issue in the blazing hot Phoenix weather in a short time.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall, the Winegard Elite 7550 Long Range VHF/UHF Outdoor HDTV Antenna is a great choice if you're looking to cut the cord. There are a few shortfalls in the build quality that you should be aware of, but again, overall this is a great antenna. Assembly is straightforward, but I had some concerns about how much plastic is used. I'd feel safer mounting this in the attic rather than outside as some of the screws are secured only into plastic backing. My biggest concern is that the mounting bracket is plastic, and somewhat flimsy, while the mounting arm is metal. They should both be metal, for sure. Reception is great, so no worries on that end. If you decide to go with this model, I'd make sure it's protected from the wind. Otherwise, not a bad choice at all.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] along with the other reviews, I too am impressed by the number of channels available through this antenna. The phone app is easy to install and use and the range of options is great. I am not that excited about the fact that the antenna is expensive and does not come with a coax cable. You also must install the antenna outdoors and connect the coax to your television, which requires a penetration through your house. You will however get access to many channels without paying monthly fees. If that is your goal, this antenna is a great win!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I "cut the cord" years ago. Over time I have literally worked my way to the top. Antenna on top of the TV, attic mount and finally roof mount. I live just over 30 miles from the towers for the majority of the stations I like. I mounted the Winegard about 30 feet high. Right next to my current one that I've been using for about 5 years. I was using the same cord and amplifier my current one was using. My current one claims 60 miles, the Winegard 75 miles, but there's no extra stations in the 15 mile range anyway. On clear days I have been able to pick up bay area stations, but they would just be the same network with a different affiliate. So they are not stations I would program anyway. I really was hoping the Winegard being a brand new model would outperform my old one. Not so. It actually scanned less stations, and the meter strength was not as strong as my current one. The mounting bracket is plastic, and I just happened to be up on the roof on a windy day. I can see with the combination of the large flat surface area and a plastic bracket weather could be an issue with this unit. Overall it's not a bad antenna, but for the money you can do better.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is an excellent Winegard product that has really helped my reception. I installed this outdoors on a deck railing and compared it to a patch antenna (indoors) that I had been using. I was getting about 60 channels, with this antenna I now get 125 channels! I also have better signal strength now, no more freezing or pixelating. My only issue is the mounting holes in the plastic bracket are a bit large and the deck screws I used really need washers on them because the heads are smaller than the holes. Product has a power inserter to power the amplifier in the antenna. The power inserter goes indoors and plugs in the wall or a USB port. This antenna is great for cord cutters!

This antenna works so much better than I thought! I live down in a valley-like area by the lake and surrounded by trees. My local satellite company couldn't get a good enough signal in order to get good reception on my TV. I also tried several different antenna's with only a few channels coming through. This antenna has to be assembled and does not include coax cables (2 needed) but that was no problem. The antenna was a little larger than I anticipated but that doesn't really matter to me. Most of the parts are plastic so I hope it holds up with the high winds and rough seasonal weather. After assembly, you hook up your coax cables to the little white power cord unit and then the ends go into the antenna and your TV. The antenna itself gets mounted to your roof or some other high surface (can also be used on RV's, Trucks etc. for mobile use). You go online or on the recommended app (see pics for more details) to determine which way to face the antenna based on your local satellite towers. Once I determined which way to face the antenna toward the closest tower, I tested it out before mounting which is what I showed in the attached picture. I then turned my TV on to TV setting by pressing the "source" button on my remote control. You would then go to auto channel search which will take a couple of minutes to load the channels. I was able to get 45 channels in an area that normally doesn't pick up satellite reception! Once your channels load, use the "channel up & down button on your remote to get to a working channel first. The picture on my TV came through as digital which made it very clear although the picture I attached looks a bit blurry because I took it with my cell phone. I can't believe how well this antenna worked! I've read other reviews where some people thought it was just "oK" but I would highly recommend this antenna based on my experience. My brother is a semi truck driver who goes all over the country and he wants to get one to use while he's on the road and has to stay in his truck overnight or when he's camping with his family.

Does this antenna require power? I know you can ad the amplifier.

Posée par: Les
Your antenna hooks up to your TV which is plugged in to the wall or power source. The following is what manufacturer says: Consider using an existing satellite or cable coax connection. At the point where cables enter your home (the grounding box), the antenna can be hooked up to an existing coax connection. From the grounding box, a coax cable should run to the TV or power supply (if using an amplifier). If replacing an existing antenna with the Winegard Elite 7550 antenna, simply disconnect the coax cable from the existing antenna, and connect the coax cable to the Winegard Elite 7550 antenna.

is this capable of plugging into a connector that has a usb end on it, that plugs into the back of a directv genie receiver? this connector i speak of came with the flatwave indoor antenna that we tried and didnt pick up cbs
Posée par: lori
You can do that, but know that CBS and DirecTV are having a dispute. Many markets across the country aren't able to view CBS using DirecTV.

Does anyone know what the Antenna Gain is on this product?
Posée par: Mohammed
Actually the antenna gain is not specified but looking at the data sheet looks to be about 10 dBi. The 1 dB is the noise figure number for the inline booster amp ... for noise figure, lower is better.

I read that this antenna can pick up signals from up to 70 miles at 360 degrees. Does this mean that no positioning adjustments are necessary? Just set it and forget it?

Yes you can. Ask at the store for a 2 or w way splitter. The associate should give you further info as it' not hard. :-)
