Rated 4 de 5 de par Good Value Turnbuckle has good quality plating. Held the spray paint well, as I painted it a different color to match the color of the door I was using it on. I wish they had larger sizes as I had to make one myself for one of the larger doors that needed one also. Since they come with 1/4" threads that was pretty easy to do,

Rated 5 de 5 de par This thing is awesome. If i had know $7 would fix my sagging screen door, i would have done it a long time ago. Took me five minutes to install and the door work perfect and it was sagging and dragging and wouldn't close. If you have a sagging screen door... go buy this now.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Quality Screen Door Brace At first I couldn't find this online as most people call it a "screen door brace", but that only turned up one obsolete item. Found this by scrolling through screen door accessories. This is a well-made screen door brace. Not that they are hard to make, but clearly it was made by people who care. Installation was trivial and I didn't even need a wrench to turn the turnbuckle. Now my tired man door closes smoothly. I'll get another decade out of it yet. Worth noting is that the other store who's name rhymes with "Moe's" doesn't carry any screen door braces at all. But one I found it online here, Home Depot told me the local store had it in-stock and exactly where to find it. And the information was correct!

Will this rust on a beach house, and if so, approximately how long will it take to rust? Thank you.

Thank you for your interest in our Wright Products Turnbuckle, it is zinc plated and should resist rust for quite some time. Exactly we cannot say.

One review says you will need..."Anyone doing this will need the 1/4-20 threaded rod (comes in 12", 24", and 36" at HD), and another nut like this: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt-1-4-in-20-tpi-Zinc-Rod-Coupling-Nuts-822251/204337387" Is that true?

Posée par: wprsly
The review quoted was how to extend the rod and make it longer. If you are just looking for stated length of 50inches, you don't need anything else.

For vinyl door, will a screw on either end stay in the door or do you need to do something stronger like a bolt?

Posée par: wprsly
Most standard screen door hardware will work great on a solid vinyl screen door. The door can be drilled just like a wood door. Drill pilot holes in the screen door smaller than the screw shank, then install the turnbuckle using the screws provided. Insert the screws through the turnbuckle into the pilot holes, but don't tighten completely until all screws are in place. Finally, tighten down the screws.

Posée par: countrygirl84
No, you don't need a turnbuckle and you don't need a push bar. You need to search for a "screen door grille." The ones shown aren't the decorative kind. They're kind of plain but look like they can do the job.
