Excellent product, very sturdy, durable, comfy on the feet and beautiful compliment to the room. Was placed directly over a tile floor without having to do anything with existing grout lines. Contractor who installed was impressed and anxious to introduce to future clients.

Rated 4 de 5 de par 72” molded piece came and matched the flooring as expected.... 72” molded piece came and matched the flooring as expected. The problem is that is came with only (4) screws to fit the 32” in door. This is fine except now I have a 40 inch piece with track left but no screws. Seems this should have come with enough screws to use in all the holes that are needed.

It is not mentioned anywhere how wide the metal channel is that the reducer snaps into. It is 1/2" wide. Had to call manufacturer for this info. Seems kind of ridiculous seeing this is a critical dimension.

Rated 5 de 5 de par If you need a threshold, this is the one! ... If you need a threshold, this is the one! Unbelievable job at tapering down from laminate to bare floor. It has a unmistakable charm and elegance that I have not seen this far. If I could give this 6 stars I would.

Is there a track that needs to be installed prior to laying down the reducer molding?

Is there a track that needs to be installed prior to laying down the reducer molding?
Posée par: mschwarb
Yes - if possible, lay the track before you lay the flooring, this will give you an edge to cut to rather than guessing on the line. I had to learn the hard way...cutting an already laid floor is not fun. But it looks great now!

I'm replacing some carpet with this flooring. I understand the difference in T and Multi-reducer, but where the existing carpet and reducer meet, do i leave the 1/4" space from the edge of the track to the existing carpet? In this case I will cut the carpet, so there is no carpet tack strip, so will the carpet need to be tacked or glued under the reducer strip?
Posée par: JD
Yes you need to leave a small gap between the track and both the Carpet and the plank vinyl floor. I replaced an exiting linoleum floor in a bathroom so there was carpet in the hallway, I was able to leave the old metal transition strip without disturbing the carpet and this moulding snapped right over the top of the old transition and looks very nice. I would think you'd need to install a tack strip to hold the carpet down - this moulding will not apply enough pressure to hold the carpet in place - you would need some other means to actually hold the carpet then this is just decorative and to cover the gap between carpet and vinyl

How do you cut this? It more or less exploded under my miter saw. Do I need a special blade?

How do you cut this? It more or less exploded under my miter saw. Do I need a special blade?
Posée par: Brent
A good finish blade works well holding the molding tight against fence and making the cut slow. I never had a problem unless the piece is freezing.
