Rated 5 de 5 de par Great quality in compact size [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Everbilt 1/3 hp utility pump is another quality product by the Everbilt corporation. While it is may generally be used to eliminate waste water, we have a cabin on the creek and this pump is ideal for elevating water from the creek for cabin use. The size, weight and portability allows us to detach and bring in for storage to prevent theft when we are away. The fifteen foot lift feature is more than adequate for this adaptation and makes life much more enjoyable when spending weekends or vacation time out of the Sonoran Desert. We highly recommend this pump for any use that fits within the specs.

Rated 2 de 5 de par Switch problems In my application, the pump was quite awkward to install. Once completed, the diaphragm switch failed to activate the pump. Since I threaded the pump directly on to the drain spigot, customer service says it requires a spacer between pump and drain to work. Since I can fill the laundry sink with water and the switch does not activate, my guess is that this should provide ample head pressure to activate the switch. No instructions are available on the diaphragm switch. Even if I could get a replacement switch, it's a major pain to change it out. Think I will just install a manual switch. It also appears I am not the only purchaser to have this issue.

Rated 5 de 5 de par [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This pump was just what I needed, and now I am able to install a utility sink in the garage. And I installed a pipe so it just pumps it outside without having to go through the plumbing system. It’s nice and compact so it fits right under the sink without having to do any excess plumbing or carpentry. It’s made up a very heavy duty plastic and pumps 22 gallons per minute which should empty the sink in about five minutes. It’s neat because it has a sump built into it so when it gets to a certain amount of water in the sink or in the pump it’ll automatically pump it out. Now I have that utility sink in the garage that I’ve always wanted.

Rated 5 de 5 de par just the thing for a basement sink [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So, if you have a basement sink that requires a pump to get the drain run up to a higher level, this pump will likely fit the bill. It is solidly built, and my experience is that Everbilt has a reputation for quality products. We will be installing this pump in our basement utility sink. The sink will be getting minimal to moderate use, as it will not serve a dedicated daily purpose, more of an occasional use for cleaning out buckets and dumping rinse water from household projects. The long power cords will be very beneficial, as our location does not have power directly accessible.

The auto switch does not work properly I have gone down into my basement to find the sink overflowing with water due to the fact the pump did not kick on. The only way to get it to run is to plug the pump itself directly into outlet bypassing the switch which is useless for an under the sink application. Hoping to return it to home depot just irritating due to the fact it is already plumed in. Skeptical about getting another of the same brand but do not want to re plum entire setup. If I could give no stars I would. Total garbage. Stay away from this pump.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Installation is fairly straight forward and simple. Be sure your fittings are snug and square when assembling. After assembly I usually turn my faucet to ½-¾ flow and adjust the ball valve (included) so that the pump does not continue to cycle on and off. You will find this adjusted rate will work fine throughout the life of the pump. Be sure to add the provided screen when assembling the unit. The screen goes in the pump inlet. I destroyed a pump once when an object went down the drain and ruined the impellers. You will find this brand of pump to be reliable and last many years.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Heavy duty !!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was looking for heavy duty sink utility pump for a remote outdoor BBQ island sink project and the Everbilt 1/3 HP sink pump is perfect. It's made of quality cast iron and is a bit on the heavy side. I added some bracing supports to ensure it didn't sag the bottom of the sink, but much prefer pumps made our of heavy cast than other light materials. When test activating the pump it was relatively quieter than I thought it would be. The power cord(s) for actuator and motor were long enough that I didn't have to add another near the underside of sink. Overall, this pump was a great selection for my project!.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This utility sink pump is another quality product from Everbilt. I have appreciated their sump pump reliability for years. This pump however is for the utility or laundry sink. It is has a one third horsepower motor and two plugs that piggyback into one GPCI outlet. The installation is pretty straightforward with some custom cut pvc pipe for the need of the water removal situation. This comes with a sink drain filter and the ball valve. The auto on and shut off is a great feature. The maximum discharge is thirteen hundred gallons per hour.

I have to run about 8 ft horizontally from the pump and then 5 ft vertically. Will this pump work?
Posée par: Mike
You need six feet minimum rise above the check valve, using 1 1/4 pipe. Failure to have this minimum rise will result in a reduced back pressure on the check valve. As a result, the check valve may not operate as designed and the check valve may not fully close. If so, the discharge water will back up into your sink. Your description is not a good design. Find a way to rise six feet minimum even if you need to come back down from that height into your home's main discharge line.

Does this pump have a manual on-off switch in addition to the automatic switch?
Posée par: Neil
No but you could do a work-around if you know what you're doing. 1 plug is the motor and the other is the pressure switch.

Can this pump run continuously for 2 hours

Posée par: Rich
It only turns on when there is enough water pressure to trigger the internalized mechanism that turns on the pump. Hope that helps answer you question.

how many feet runs vertically on regular basis?

how many feet runs vertically on regular basis?
Posée par: ARI
Probably 6 or 7 ft. It's at my weekend lake house in the garage attached to a laundry tub so I may only use it a few times a month. I do have issues of the motor not turning if I don't use it for awhile. After taking it apart the first time when I thought something was stuck in there, that ended up not being the case, it just needed a push. Now I just unplug it and stick a screwdriver down the hole and try to spin the blade, then plug it back in and it works. Kind of a pain.

Can this pump keep up with the water flowing from the sink to the pump?

Posée par: jmdstep
This is a very general question because whether this pump can keep up or not depends upon how much water is flowing to the pump and how high it is being lifted after the pump. It says it will flow 550 gallons per hour at a 10 ft lift height. This is over 9 gallons per minute or about a gallon every 7 seconds. The kit comes with a ball valve to regulate the flow because the pump will empty the sink too fast and cycle the pump off and back on as water flows down the drain. The valve is to be partial closed as required to reduce flow so that the pump runs continuously until the water is turned of and the sink is drained. So basically water flow out of sink must equal water flow at the ball valve. Mine is about 75% closed at a lift height of about 8 feet and a total run of about 15 feet.

Can you use the ball valve to throtle down the water flow or will this damage the pump?
