Rated 1 de 5 de par not reliable I purchased five Englander 25-pvdc's from Home Depot for my high end glamping tents. It is necessary to keep one or two electric heaters in the tents for backup, depending on the weather. Stoves burn dirty, needs to be cleaned daily. Igniters need to be purchased by the dozen. Constant problems vacuum switches, igniters, lid switches, anything that can cause it to fail does. Local pellet stove service companies refuse to work on them. I thought Home Depot discontinued selling them, from personal experience they should.

Rated 5 de 5 de par I am still working on installing my pellet stove and... I am still working on installing my pellet stove and very pleased that it arrived undamaged. I am really looking forward to using as a heat source for the next season (Fall 2022) since oil heating has been staggeringly expensive ($5.00/gallon) $1,250+ to fill up tank). I purchased because England's Stove Works has an excellent reputation and HD provided very good pricing. This stove will pay for itself in one season!

Rated 1 de 5 de par Warning Buyer beware I installed this stove on a Saturday afternoon it ran " ok " lot of carbon on glass and cant see in and took two tris to start up the first time. Sunday night when I went to fill it up, it had stopped working and just made a thump sound I looked in the hole in the back and the auger motor was just flopping around in side. The paper work said emailed the compony first it has a problem. I had to email them two times before they gut back to me and they said they would send a " new one " they never said what a new one was. Two weeks later I just received a new auger motor and a sheet of paper on how to fix my stove that never worked two full days. I ordered a stove not a DIY stove KIT. And I would like to thank The Home Depot for there ZERO help

Rated 5 de 5 de par 2005 and going strong A solid workhorse for 17 years. It’s an easy stove to maintain, but like anything, you need to keep up with cleaning and routine maintenance. Great technical support.

How do I clean the blower vents on top of the stove

How do I clean the blower vents on top of the stove
Posée par: Karen
The only thing that should be coming through those vents is heated air. Therefor, dust is about the only thing that would need to be cleaned away from that area. Just use a duster, like a Swiffer, for the surface area and just inside the slots, and use a vacuum to get out anything that may be behind the slots. But, again, that should be very little.

Can this be vented through the wall, instead of going through the roof? What are the venting requirements?

Can this be vented through the wall, instead of going through the roof? What are the venting requirements?
Posée par: George
Yes. In fact, a through the wall installation is the most common pellet stove installation there is. You just want to be sure to use pipe that is approved for such an installation. A Pellet Vent Kit gives you everything needed for most through the wall installations. You can see the type of vent kit I'm talking about by going here https://www.homedepot.com/p/DuraVent-PelletVent-3-in-Stove-Pipe-Kit-3PVL-KHA/100195128.

Can this unit be vented to an existing brick chimney ?

Can this unit be vented to an existing brick chimney ?
Posée par: Josh
It can be, but you need to be aware of a couple of things. A pellet stove does not utilize natural draft like wood stove does. The exhaust temperatures from a pellet stove are nowhere near as hot as those from a wood stove, so a hot column of gasses in the flue to provide natural lift is much more difficult to do. A pellet stove is mechanically drafted and the gasses are blown out of the back of the stove and out the flue. Since a masonry flue is usually much bigger than the 3" diameter that comes off a pellet stove, the velocity of the smoke being blown out can be greatly reduced when it transitions from the 3" pellet vent pipe to the 6" x 6", 8" x 8", or possibly even 8" x 12" masonry flue because it is so much larger. This often creates an environment where the gasses can bog down in the masonry flue and, when that happens, it will adversely affect the way the pellet stove is burning. This is especially true if the chimney is taller than 10 or 15 feet. The solution to this is to reline the masonry flue with pellet vent pipe all the way to the top and cap it off. I personally vent my pellet stove into a masonry chimney and have relined to the top with pellet vent pipe and capped it off, even though my chimney is only about 12 feet high. This will ensure you get the best performance out of your pellet stove.

Yes it must be re-ignited each time after being shutdown. I use a torch. Has its own thermostat.
