Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great set of bits. They have a very sharp point... Great set of bits. They have a very sharp point which keeps them from walking around the surface when starting a hole and they stay sharp for a long time. Contrary to what some of the reviews complain about all you need to do is keep them cool with water spray and run them under 2000 RPM ( that's like the #1 speed on most cordless drills). Slow steady pressure and keeping it cool and they'll give you good long service.

Will these drill in to a wall mounted mirror?

Will these drill in to a wall mounted mirror?
Asked by: Shop17
How thick is the mirror and how close to the edge and how large is the hole. The bits will definitely put a hole in glass but you will have to be careful to avoid collateral hole-drilling damage, primarily break outs and cracks. The place you want to drill the holes needs to have a firm backing. You don't want your glass to bend as you are drilling and break. This might be a good time for glue . .. .. ....

I have a quartz threshold on window. Need to drill holes to install blind. Will these Bosch drill bits work or do you have another Bosch product that is better suited for the job?
Asked by: Dave
is this as man-made "gluestone" quartz? If yes, they look great and i would drill with confidence. Man made products of this type are very uniform and so drill well and consistently. If this is a natural quartz, my answer would be much longer and full of caveats.

Can I use it for plexiglass?

Asked by: Biminitony
Plastic is always a pain and a crap shoot. They bits are more than a match for plastic of any and all types, but drilling plastic near the edges such a crap shoot when it comes to the plastic breaking. In the past when i have had to drill plexiglass, i have used a regular bit, and started with a smaller size and made the hole larger till it got to the correct diameter. If you are dealing with the 1/16" plastic, i would avoid holes ealtogeter. I recently made a 2' x 3', six compartmet display front for a t-shirt seller. He had the thin plasatic and so i glued it only - no holes for me. Would i use these bits on plexiglass - NO!

can these be used to drill holes in mugs, tea cups, ceremic pots for drainage without cracking or breaking them

Asked by: DrGreenthumb
Gerally no. If you want to drill holes in ceramics you need to get a diamond bit specifically designed for that job. If you have "soft" locally thrown mugs, etc. you might get away with a good hole. But if you want to put hole in a large production house mug (bowl pot etc.), they tend to be very hard, and so you need the diamond bit once again. I have one on my drill press and use it with water and have had great success. The only dishes that have resisted my efforts are glass cooking dishes of all makes and types (Pyrex, Anchor Hocking) and thin, highly patterned glass dishes.
