How does these do for winters? It can get as cold as -30 'C.

Asked by: Lizzy
FLEXfence should be able to withstand extreme cold temperatures. We do recommend that you should limit your operating the louvers if their is snow build-up (particularly on the operating bar). Preferably the louvers should be in a closed position.

Can I use this system for a vertical wall? I want to build a louver wall as a division between two rooms in my house. The ceiling height is 10ft.

Asked by: Vish02
Thank you for considering FLEXfence for your project. Yes, you can use the FLEXfence for vertical louvers. We recommend limiting your vertical span to 6 feet to help prevent the boards bowing. Ideally, you could frame the opening and divide the opening into 5 foot heights. However, since your application is inside and not exposed to the exterior elements, you may be able to to run the boards 10 feet vertically.

When closed how much is the opening between boards?

Asked by: Derfp
In a closed position, the FLEXfence louvers overlap approx. 3-1/2". Depending on the board thickness there should be a slight gap of 1/4"- 1/2".

What is the maximum length of the boards to be used.?

Asked by: libertygurl53
If you are running the boards horizontally, we recommend shorter spans to help prevent sagging. Spans greater than 4′ are not recommended. The wood species also affects the wood span. If it is not possible to shorten the spans than you can substitute the 1″ x 6″ with 5/4″ deck boards. The 5/4″ boards will be stronger and should be more stable. We recommend a maximum span for vertical slats is 6′.

Can this system be cut? As we only need it for 2 ft

Asked by: Patricia
Sorry for the delay in responding. We have experienced problems with our server. Yes, the FLEXfence rails can be easily cut into 2 foot sizes. There are 11 pre-punched holes per rail. If you cut through the center of sixth hole you will have exactly 2 ft.
