Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not satisfied Horrible product! I had to re-do my gate post with concrete. Followed the easy directions yet still found the post moving. Foam stuck nicely to the post the hole filled right to the top. I Made sure temperature for the day wasn’t too hot or cold.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Everything is per expectation Everything is per expectation. Easy to install, have your post clean to allow good gripping of the foam. With one beg per one post is easygoing. I tried to use 2 begs per 3 post and that was a bit messy to instal and it is a question how the foam expanded on the post with 2 layers. Ower all, worted every penny. Stevan

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not as advertised. Does not expand as advertised even under ideal conditions. This product only expanded at most 50% of the expected amount, which was useless for my 6x6 post installation. I was really looking forward to using this stuff and did a lot of research, it ended up falling far short. The hardness of the cured foam is also much softer than expected. Only suitable if you want a "removable" post.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Post Fix works well I've used this product a few times now, and this is a great alternative to concrete for setting posts. I've had no trouble with this at all.

Can this stuff hold up to Ground frost? when installing how deep should the holes be dug?

Asked by: Donny
This stuff weathered the winter without an issue. The posts of the large lattice didn't budge. We went down 2 feet

Does the product work for chain link fence main and line post? How many bags per post

Asked by: Rock
Yes no problem with chainlink. The hike should be no larger than 6”, and it would take approximately one bag for a 48” deep hole.

The store associate said this product could be used to stabilize a post already in concrete but loose (rotting?) All on-line information deals only with new posts. Should it be used to fix an existing post?

Asked by: John
For best application, remove the post and redo. Unfortunately using Post Fix on a rotted post will only result in a temporary repair and thus it is not recommended. If the customer would like to try and stabilize his post with Post Fix, dig down to the concrete/create a hole around the post and pour the Post Fix.

WHY wouldn't this product be appropriate for a low deck (posts extending 6" above grade)? Live in Toronto and post holes would be 48" deep. Hole diameter 6" using a 4" square PT post. 9 posts supporting 3 double layer 2x6 beams plus a ledger.

Asked by: Kevin
I live in Thornhill and I used this foam for fence posts recently, the hole for the pasta will need to be at least 10 to 12 inches diameter to accommodate a 4 inch square post. The foam expands around the post so needs room to expand. I was happy with the outcome, stable, much easier and faster than using concrete, and much cleaner work space after project completed.

I'm installing a 10 m freestanding tower. Would this product work as a mass foundation and what is it's minimum strength. Thank you

Asked by: Juniper987
I wouldn’t think so.  It’s intended for fences, not structures that carry people/load. Possibly a flag pole if hole was at least 1/4 the length .

Will the Silka Post Mix work for a 20' aluminum flag pole?. How deep must the hole be?

Asked by: mike1012
Use Concrete for this application. Make sure 7' is in the ground.
