This lock installation kit is designed to install a lockset in a door with wood siding. The plastic template fits doors that are either 1 3/8 in (35 mm) or 1 3/4 in (45 mm) thick and will accommodate a backset of 2 3/8 in (60 mm) or 2 3/4 in (70 mm). The plastic template ensures that the high carbon steel hole saws drill straight and true for both the lockset and the latch for smooth operation.
