Rated 1 out of 5 by from Junk-don’t waste your money Bought 2 of these. Placed right next to each other in same room. One read 15%, the other read 30%. Neither was accurate, compared to a reading from a real hygrometer, which showed 22%.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not Accurate Putting in hardwood floors, so got one of these. It read the same as when Hardwood Flooring company did reading in house. I bought 2 more for other rooms. I put them side by side to see if readings are the same and they are all different. One is 3% higher and the other is 5% higher. Don't trust them if you just have one.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not for dry climates As the title says, this hygrometer is not for dry climates where the humidity could often drop below 15%. I have two of these and neither would go below 15%. I had to purchase a different hygrometer to find out the RH was only 2% (Manitoba in winter and no humidification). They should indicate the RH range and associated temperature ranges this works with.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Readings are not accurate I bought three of these about a year ago. To my surprise, each of them gave a different readout from the others for both humidity and temperature. Bizarre. I then compared the readouts from each of the three to the readouts on a high quality, "scientific" hygrometer that I borrowed from a friend. None of the three that I bought agreed with the scientific although the temperature readings were within one to two degrees. So, I kept the one with the RH reading closest to that of the scientific hygrometer (it was within 12 degrees RH). Now, when I use the one I bought I just add these 12 degrees to the readout to arrive at the accurate RH. On the couple of times that I have checked my hygrometer to the scientific one, the 12 degree RH difference still holds true so for the price and for what I want it for, I kept it. I took the other two back to HD.

does this measure reliably below 30%?

I've read briefly about humidity meters. Also known as hygrometers. It says some of them do not reliably measure below 30% or 20%. what about Enviracaire ?

Hi Iann The E10 Hygrometer is accurate from 0% to 100% when measuring humidity. The E10 accuracy is .05. Hope this helps.

Can this be used to control an exhaust fan?  If humidity gets to high I want the fan to come on. Is that possible with this product?
