Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good Idea; Random Quality Pros: Good idea; good price; easy to install. Cons: Inconsistent quality causing random and poor operation. I now have 3 units. Had trouble with the first one I bought. Returned it for a new one. Replacement unit now works as advertized. Just bought my second and third units. These two new ones operate quite randomly. Often won't come on when they should, and often come on when they shouldn't. Debating whether to send them back. I recommended them to a neighbor. He bought two of them. He is having difficulty making them operate consistently.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product The product works as advertised. Easy installation same as replacing a light switch. Cheaper then buying a full fixture with built in motion sensor since you use your existing lights and switch. But keep in mind the instructions says to use incandescent bulbs so if you currently have CFL bulbs it won't light up properly. I simply replaced them with led bubs and works as expected now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Motion Activated Light Switch Highly recommended. Was able to install in minutes and only requires change out of light switch on inside of garage wall and the installation of the sensor on outside wall. Works as expect after initial quick adjustment to sensor direction and distance. Perfect.

what is the temperature range, will it work if both the sensor and the switch are in a non heated location (garage)

Asked by: Anonymous
While the units electronics can work down to -22 degrees F. Most batteries go dormant below freezing. You would need to use LITHIUM type batteries to work in very cold environments.

what frequency range does it work on

Im currently using z wave products frequency 908.42,would that interfer with these items. The Heath Zenith can you set the frequency , change frequency if needed. Just what is Heath Zenith frequency range?
Asked by: Anonymous
All of our wireless products use the 315 MHZ frequency. Most of our products have a security code on this frequency that can be used to keep adjacent systems from interfering with each other. These products are not compatible with the `Z-Wave’ products. Source: HeathCo Representative

Does the switch control the light or the sensor?

Does the sensor work in the ON or OFF position on the switch? If you turn the switch to ON, does the light stay on constantly or does it need a signal from the sensor to keep the light on? Is there a way to keep the light on constantly needed? Is there a way to keep it off permanently if needed?
Asked by: Anonymous
The toggle switches on the switch unit itself will override whatever state that the motion sensor may be in. If the motion sensor is not sensing motion, you can press the top part of the larger toggle switch to turn it on the power to the light. If the motion sensor has turned on the lights, but hasn’t sent the signal to turn them off at its selected time period, you can turn OFF the lights by pressing the bottom section of the toggle switch. If you want the lights to stay off and not be triggered by the motion sensor, or the toggle switches, you can slide the small slide switch below the toggle switches on the switch unit to the left to turn the power off to the switch. The toggle overrides the signal from the motion sensor (in the ON function, but not the OFF function), so if you turn it ON with the toggle switch it will stay on until you turn it off. If you want to go back to receiving the signal from the motion sensor, then you would press the bottom part of the large toggle to turn the lights OFF, and then it can receive the signal from the motion sensor. One switch two lights?

I have one switch at the top of the stairs (but no switch at the bottom of the stairs to turn them off or on when I enter or leave) controlling two light fixtures with energy saving bulbs. I need the lights to go on when I enter so I can see my way. Would this unit solve my problem. PS all white wires in switch are capped together. One hot black at top and two black at bottom of switch. Thank you for your help

This would be a good solution, but you cannot use 'Energy Saver’ or CFL type bulbs.

Can you install this in a double gang box?

We have a double gang box, one switch for the inside lights and one for the porch. We want to change out only the switch for the porch lights with this, so I'm hoping the trim comes off and we can still use the main component for the porch light switch. Is that possible, to install it in a double gang box without the trim it comes with?

Will this work with Florescent bulbs?

Asked by: Anonymous
No it does not work with florescent lights. On page 10 of the English instructions is where it tells you. No where on the box does it tell you.
