Like another reviewer noted you do need a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the packaging, but it was really quick. I had it open in about a minute. The tape measure is the only tool that seems a little cheap. The rest of the kit is the quality we have come to expect from the husky brand. Best part is that the tools carry the husky warranty, so if anything goes wrong just return for a replacement.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice assortment of quality tools Whether you are moving into a new home or apartment, or have lived there for years, this is a great set of tools for your home. This set has everything you need - from screwdrivers, a hammer, pliers, scissors, tape measure, utility knife, drivers and 32 different bits. You will find this set very useful for both new and existing homeowners. It also comes in its own storage case so the tools will be right where you want them when you need them. It's a great set and also makes a great gift for the holidays or a housewarming. And the Husky Forever guarantee means you don't have to worry. This is a quality set of tools. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sturdy, versatile, and great quality I can always use a good set of tools - especially one with sockets that I (hopefully) will not lose. This unit has all of the important tools - including a really hefty hammer and a wide variety of sockets and wrenches. The whole thing comes in a great plastic case that is really easy to carry around. The whole thing has a heft that exudes quality and sturdiness. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by from cheap-looking, poorly designed tools, nice case, TERRIBLE retail packaging The largest online retailer promotes "frustration-free" packaging. They could point to the nightmare packaging of this product as a great example of "frustration-FULL" packaging. Here's what it takes just to get this tool kit out of its packaging: Tape on the cardboard outer package must be cut carefully and precisely in four locations; then four maddening latching tabs must be pried loose with a knife point; then the cardboard end-flaps must be pried opened; and finally several long, doubly-folded-in flaps (on the front of the box where the tools are visible) must be completely UN-folded—and that's just to remove the FIRST LAYER of packaging, the cardboard box. That allows you to slide the opened-flat, fully stuffed plastic tool case, with its throwaway clear thick plastic molded cover, out of the cardboard box. Next, you have to remove that thick clear plastic molded cover over the entire tool kit, by unscrewing EIGHT sheet metal screws in various locations, which hold the clear plastic cover very securely on the tool case. That whole unpacking process takes about ten minutes, and it REQUIRES two tools—a box cutter and a phillips-head screwdriver—but you cannot use the box cutter and screwdriver included in this kit, because you can't GET to them yet. It's the worst packaging I have ever encountered in almost seven decades as an avid consumer. The very worst. Period. Don't even THINK of buying this kit as a holiday gift, except for the person you hate most in the whole world. What makes it sad as well as frustrating is that the tools so well protected in this kit are really cheap looking, with coarse surfaces and rough edges everywhere. Everything is covered in oil, almost surely because the steel is so cheap that otherwise it would rust before the kit even made it into the stores. Except for the very nicely designed and finished hammer, which looks like it belongs in a completely different, much higher-quality tool kit, all of the tools are badly proportioned, with rubber-coated handles much too short for their heads. They feel awkward just to hold, without even trying to do anything with them. If these tools were sold individually, so that consumers could hold them before buying, no one would ever buy them. They're terrible. The only way to sell them is to lock them inside a nearly impossible-to-open kit, so that by the time the buyer actually touches the tools he or she is ready for the loony bin, with far bigger problems than how to return this horrible tool kit. Husky is supposed to be The Home Depot's mid-quality brand of in-house products, with Ridgid at the top and HDX at the bottom. For the second time, the quality of a Husky product makes me wonder how much worse the HDX version could be. Pre-rusted tools is about the only way I can imagine a worse product than this one is. Oh, the case is nicer than the tools it contains. There's a specially-designed place for each tool, and each tool is held securely in its own place... EXCEPT for the channel-lock pliers, which fall out of their spot in the lid when you try to close the case, so you have to close it upside down. Other tools fit so tightly in their spots that you need to use an easier-to-remove tool to pry them out. Overall, this is a product to avoid like the plague.
