Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed as always. First let me say your email prompting this review was a surprise to me since i have visited your Thunder Bay store twice weekly for the last 3 months looking to buy the product you say i bought but have left without, as you have never had this product available when I'm there. Secondly this may shed some light on the reason for your wildly pathetic inventory control at Thunder Bay Home Depot. It appears you cannot tell the difference between a 2 x 6 x 8' and the three treated 6 x 6 x 8' s I was lucky enough to find and purchase. As for them, they were wet as hell and full of longitudinal cracks but still the best you have to offer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wood I do this again? Yes. Home Depot has asked me to 'write a review' about my recent wood purchase, so here goes...: the wood was very "woody". I ordered it 2x6x10'lengths and (minus standard trim) the size provided was perfect. Few splinters were encountered while handling the wood as I wore gloves. No animals, nor the environment was harmed during the cutting and installing of the wood (which was used to build a deck). At the end of the day, I had a beer. I'm very satisfied with my purchase (including the beer, which was a local craft brew). I highly recommend the use of wood for wood decks.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor wood I was very disappointed I buy the wood for my deck at my cottage I ended up selling it off at a discount price was not worth my time to carry it back I repurchased wood from different source ( excellent wood ). I believe this was to the fact of buying online and inexperienced employees putting together a order of some terrible pieces of wood ( either the wood was not pressure-treated all the way through and 30% of the wood who was already marked with an GREEN X INDICATING THAT SOMEONE HAS ALREADY ACKNOWLEDGED THAT IT WAS NO GOOD

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Get rid of micro pro sienna PT The micro pro sienna pressure treated wood is not a great product. It warps very easily compared to the previous pressure treated lumber Home Depot used to sell. It has currently worked for what I need, some pieces already warped however. As this seems to be the only product you sell in PT I have no other choice. I would HIGHLY recommend you listen to your consumers on this, as I know I am not the only one who has an issue with this product, and switch back to the previous PT lumber. The customer is always right.... It may cost you more money, but it would provide a better product for your consumer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good If You Take The Time Good boards, but I would definitely choose to pick them out myself next time. There were a lot of boards I had to pick through and reject or strategically cut to avoid large defects or warping. It's worth the time to spend at the store being a little picky.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not terrible Although I read a lot of negative reviews regarding this lumber, due to the price I went with it anyways. I built a deck a couple of months ago, and from what I can see only one board has warped a little. The rest seems to be drying nicely. For the price it is decent quality.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Shrinks alot Need to install these without a gap. They shrink as they dry.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Quality Ordered 62 boards May 2020 expected a nice brown pressure treated deck board as shown and received very light coloured wood with SO much green, every single board had streaks of green throughout and some with goops of green. Always expect to get a few that are questionable but not ALL. We were told by the manager that a new chemical is being used and the green would dissipate in the sun. Checked out the boards in store and they were all the same. Delayed our deck build for a week to see if the green would disappear in the direct sun and there was absolutely no improvement. Ended up going to a different company and repurchased beautiful pressure treated wood for the same price. Now getting a huge runaround on the return, originally being told they would pick it up for a return and then the next day saying that pick up is absolutely not possible (they were delivered).

Can these be used in ground contact application?

Asked by: Kryshaor
I used this for my above ground garden boxes and choose the treated wood for it's ability to last, I also used a heavy landscaping fabric on the inside to protect the soil from the wood's treated chemicals. It is also dug out a trench for the box to sit in the ground so, yes, you can use this for ground contact.

What's the actual length of the 5/4 x 6 x 16' board? I checked my existing deck boards, their length is 193ft, which is 1 inch more than 16ft. I wonder for the 16ft deck board in the store, are they exact 16ft long, or generally 1 inch longer than 16 ft?

Asked by: CS Windsor
16' 1/2". Just measured mine, each board has 1/2 inch extra

Can you use this as a bottom plate in basement framing?

Asked by: OrdelryChaos
You can use any lumber as the bottom plate as long as you provide damproofing, vapour barrier between the wood plate and concrete surface. However, it is not recommended to used treated wood inside the house unless is all sealed, some pressure treatment are toxic.

I'm looking to build a wall in my basement placing the bottom plate directly on concrete. Is this safe for an indoor bottom plate as part of a wall ? Are any toxic chemicals part of the treatment ?

Asked by: silviu
I've been talking with different people, it seems is not _recommended_ to use it for interior applications (even with galvanized fasteners). The manufacturer doesn't explicitly forbids it though like I learnt is not the way to go.
