This Sprinkler pull-up tool is such a handy tool for pulling up the sprinkler head and keeping the stem up by clamping the tool around the nozzle. This allows for both hands to be free and makes it much easier to either clean the nozzle or replace the sprinkler head within minutes. The tool is built well, the spring action is quite tight and just right to grip and clamp the nozzle without leaving any teeth marks that I used to get when earlier I used pliers as a work around. Its amazing how such a small tool can make replacing a sprinkler nozzle so much easier and convenient. On average I have to replace about 4-5 sprinkler heads every season and with this tool I get done in fraction of time from what it used to take earlier. Highly recommended. Rated 3 out of 5 by from It does work…but did not impress. Changing a nozzle on a sprinkler head is a bit of a dance. Anyb... It does work…but did not impress. Changing a nozzle on a sprinkler head is a bit of a dance. Anybody that has tried to hold up the tube with one hand and unscrew the nozzle with the other has also watched it slip away and retract back into the body. This is usually followed by some words not meant for younger ears and then a struggle to get it back up by sticking in your finger and trying to over come the spring. This Orbit tool is intended to help with this problem. I didn’t have any success with the tool in pulling up a sprinkler head that still has the nozzle installed. I still had to use a blade of a screwdriver to pry the head up from the body. But it does work pretty well to hold up the tube once extended (see photo). But it is really handy to have when a tube without a nozzle retracts. Unfortunately I haven’t tested it against a competitive product. Others have mentioned Rain Bird. If I had to change a lot of heads this tool would be worth the purchase. At less than $7 bucks it is not a major purchase. But a flat blade screw driver and some patience you can get the job done without it. About my ratings: 5 stars – Exceeds all expectations. Better than the competition in all aspects, design, cost, operation, and support (A+). 4 stars – Nicely done. Better than the competition and solves the problem. (B) 3 stars – Works as expected. Has some shortcomings but gets the job done. Might be short in design, cost, longevity, or support. (C). 2 stars – Falls short of expectations and needs improvement. Pass and look elsewhere. (D) 1 star – Fails miserably. Does not get the job done, might even make things worse. Someone at the company should be fired. (F) [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

This sprinkler pull-up tool works quite well, and is of decent quality. It has a tapered nose that you can slide under the sprinkler head and lift it up, then you can slide it in to the middle curved part which will go around the pop up tube to hold it up, the spring is usually enough to clamp the tube in the up position and hold it up. There is also a little allen screw one the side that I assume is to clamp it down tighter for tougher springs on the pop up tube. I don't know for sure because the instruction say nothing about it, if that is its intended purpose it would be nicer if it was a thumb screw as the allen head is hard to grip especially with wet hands, and having an allen wrench with you kind of defeats the purpose of the all-in-one tool. If you let the pop up tube slide back down inside the sprinkler the pliers does a good job of reaching down inside to grab it and pull it back up. I am sure you could purchase a thumb screw for it which would help. All in all a handy little tool that does what it is supposed to do [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
