Rated 1 out of 5 by from Last 2 days I should have just listened to my heart after reading these reviews and got a regular PVC fitting. But, I fell for it, bought this elbow and it split 2 days later. Do yourself a favor and go buy the schedule 40 version of this, it will save you some heartache later.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't buy unless you want to replace them in less than a year Much the same experience as other reviewers. I used these elbows to make swing joints. Upon digging up two of them, I found the female side split along the threads. No telling how long they had been split. When the heat kicked up a bit I noticed green spots and very dry areas so I inspected all the heads. At that point they had been in the ground for about eight months. I replaced the Home Depot elbows with elbows from Sprinkler Warehouse. The attached photo shows the two elbows side-by-side. The one on the right is from Home Depot. Note the difference in the thickness of the walls. The Home Depot elbow is less than half as thick as the other one.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Junk I thought I was then only one having issue with these connectors. These connectors often cracked at the thread or completed severed at the elbow. They lasted for about 4 months which is not something I look forward to replace. Other reviewers nailed it on the head by recommended the white sch40 as a substitute. It cost twice as much but lasted a very long time.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Have replaced everyone of these. I have had the same issues as the other people who have bought these. They crack at the inside elbow joint. About half of my sprinklers were installed with this part, and I have had to dig up at least ten of them to replace it. I installed my system 2 years ago. However, my issue is that what you order and see online is not what you get from the store. The product online is bulkier and obviously better manufactured. The piece you actually get is poorly manufactured and has an obvious weak point where the female thread meets the male side. The images are what you actually get.

I put in a ton of these when redoing my sprinklers and over the years have had to pull at least half of them out because they burst at the seam on the female end just like the other reviewers. The 1/2" ones however I have had little if not zero issues with. It's a shame because they would serve a great purpose if they were reasonably durable.

Adding teflon tape, which was not mentioned, helps a little but not completely. I should have known when installing because they feel very soft and easy to turn but that also means loose fitting. Now i am concerned about the ones that were already in ground. Totally not worth the saving.

The female threaded part cracked. It's an enormous hassle to have to dig up the entire yard at this point to replace all the cracked fittings!
