A simple design that fits over the light bulb in fixtures where the bulb faces downward, turning a bright 360 degree glare into a soft downward spotlight with a lovely arch of light glow on the wall face.

I was doubtful and they weren't the easiest to attach, though it could be the light fixture, however the effect is actually nice. It created a nice ambience while still providing the security I wanted.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product. They work well for blocking the glaring light at night for outside doorway lights and transforming entry lights to "accent" lights. The actual product has 4 clips on the top (the picture does not look like the product). The black painted body holds up well outside, but the clips get rusty with time. As simple as this is, there seems to be nothing else like it out there.

do these replace glass fixture?

I have exterior "jelly jar" style lights - 17 of them and am looking for a dark sky compliant inexpensive solution. Will these replace the glass jar? or are they designed to go inside a glass shade?

No, I'm sorry these will not replace the glass jar they are designed to go inside the glass and used with Progress A-19 Medium Base.

It's unlikely that this accessory will fit inside a "jelly jar" type fixture since the glass is rather small on that fixture.
