Rated 2 out of 5 by from I want to like it After over 2 years of owning this wrench I still have it, at it's in one piece. It does what it is suppose to, but my overall liking of the rapid grip wrench is fair at best. It makes a better hammer than anything. If you are doing black iron gas lines and are installing fittings this is the tool for you, but if you are expecting to wrench on nipples with nothing to grab on to, just get a standard wrench. Ridgid missed the mark on the design. The shape of the bottom jaw is wrong and the spring in it could be stronger. I think a stronger spring would take care of most of the issues. It has held up. I have wrenched and beaten on stuff that shouldn't be wrenched on with this little wrench. Its just a matter of getting the thing to bite. When I buy a new wrench I would just go with a standard aluminum pipe wrench. There is minimum time saving with this wrench when you can't get it to bite easily. Ridgid just missed the mark on this particular concept and product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from awesome wrench I use this wrench mostly for demo/tear out work. Not having to make wrench adjustments is great. Single hand use and the quality of Ridgid tools make this a must have in every plumbers toy box.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Saves lots of time. This pipe wrench is great. I do alot of black iron gas piping and am always looking to be little more efficient. This thing actually works. Most of what I use it for is pipe 1" and under, It bites really hard on pipe and fitting and just like Ridgid's standard pipe wrench. It doesn't slip unless you use it wrong. The build quality is top notch cast iron handle with steel jaws which can be replaced.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from things u should know just because it says it s capacity is 2" pipe and 1 1/2 fittings doesnt mean it works well with 1/2 inch pipe or 3/4 ( doesnt at all actually, just slips around the pipe!) works well with 3/4 fittings and up and 1" pipe and up but you'l have to buy the 10" for 1/2 and 3/4 pipe. just so u know. youd think ridgid would tell u this but no. if it worked with smaller pipe as well id buy 2 of em but unfortunatly ...2 thumbs dooown.
