You set the zone and the thing just constantly trips when movement out of the zone set. Customer support just says to bad for you when you call to complain. Lots of hype and great commercials but actual working equipment is misleading and false. Going to have to buy a real PVR video ca,era with real HD quality.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Worked fine for a month. Then started getting motion... Worked fine for a month. Then started getting motion alerts when nothing is there. Lights go on and off repeatedly for no reason and without motion detected or alerts. Called Ring, they replaced it and within two weeks the new one is doing the same thing. We have gone through all the adjustments they have recommended and it is still doing it. We have resorted to turning it off. It’s useless. We also had the same issues with another one at another home we had. Rings quality isn’t what it was a few years ago.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Waste of money Video is slow and grainy. Motion alerts are inconsistent, even with the brand wifi extender. Live view never works. Any minor disruption to the Internet and it takes forever for the system to start working again. 0/10 do not recommend

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wide and clear view for added security The wide view is phenomenal, the picture is very clear both at day and night times. The zones are customizable as well as the sensitivity. It captures 100% of my 80ft property line. I purchased the wireless system, this comes with one battery, I also purchased the second battery for added time before recharging, this way you can leave one battery while the other one charges and never lose functionality of the camera. With this camera you can also turn on/off lights, speak through it and set a sleep mode.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love Ring and their products! Ring cameras are amazing and we use them at two locations. People who complain about having to pay for a yearly subscription after purchase don’t understand how Ring works. Maybe there are free camera monitoring apps out there but I wouldn’t trade Ring or it’s app. The annual fee is cheap ($50 or so) and worth the peace of mind to just check my cameras when I get the alerts (or even just something silly like checking the weather at the cottage LOL).

If you’ve previously purchased a Ring Spotlight Camera Wired and are looking into hard wiring your device directly into your home electrical system, the entire process can be made much simpler with the Hardwired Kit for Spotlight Cam. Can you splice the wire and reattach? I want to use the externally in an alley, but don't want to drill a large enough hole to pull the plug-in through the hole. Can I cut the wire and reattach it? Wanted to make sure it's hot, neutral, and ground only.

You can run it thru the attic you should have a plug up their just get an extension cord that what I did but I would YouTube it before you splice it.

Can anyone tell me the size of the backing plate please? If wanting to hardwire in, would it fit over where the former light was attached?

The Ring floodlight is hard wired and fits into a standard octagon electrical box. The Ring Spotlight is not hard wired and is mislabelled by Home Depot. You can actually see the wire leaving the back of the camera to go to a 120 outlet. I had to contact Ring and exchange it for a hard wired version that does not seem to be available in Canada. The version I received does fit into a standard octagon electrical box. If you want this item you might be advised to order directly from Ring

No. You cannot disable the siren. I looked through all the settings and couldn’t find any mode to stop it. You could possibly contact Ring and see if there is any option
