Rated 2 out of 5 by Sandy from Terrible screws, decent bracket. The screws that secure the handrail to this bracket are terrible and 1/3 of which have broken off while installing. Be prepared to use other screws. They must use the cheapest screws in china for the handrail. I pre-drilled into my oak handrail and the heads of the screws still twist off. Really cheap and frustrating. I would happily pay 25 cents more for each bracket to have a medium quality screw instead of having to drive back to HD and get different screws. The bracket itself is decent, only installed 3 weeks ago, no issues

Rated 4 out of 5 by Ruie from Bracket for Hand Rail I had very good help in getting this item. I purchased 3 of them because they do sometimes break and they are hard to find. (none in Lindsay). If another one breaks, I will be prepared. There are 12 of these on our hand rails, and they get a lot of hard use, so it isn't surprising that one breaks every few years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Frosty from Bannister Railing Hardware This hardware was purchased to install a 2nd bannister on my basement stairwell. The other one had previously been installed about 30 years ago. I was pleasantly surprised that this particular railing hardware was such a good match. It didn't appear that the quality had gone down over the years. The color is a touch different by the thickness and sturdiness of it matches the previous hardware, also purchased at Home Depot. I bought 4 for this size of bannister and was pleased with my purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Starbux from Antique Brass handrail brackets I bought 4 of these handrail brackets to replace the original 40 year old brackets. These brackets make my handrails magnificent. The old brackets were painted pot metal and held the handrail up until one broke. If I had known such awesome brackets were available at such a reasonable price, I would have replaced them many years ago. Removal of the old brackets and replacement using a power screwdriver was a simple task with the help of my wife.

Good strong, sturdy construction. I used with lead anchors outside for a handrail on brick. I'll give it 5 stars if it holds up for 2 years!
