Rated 1 out of 5 by from Strainer gasket Failure [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After a few weeks, the rubber gasket around the strainer screen, has broke. It now leaks water all over the place. Sad that you can’t even go on to the website directly and buy a new strainer screen to fit into the faucet or that the original unit only comes with one… so you have to buy a whole new unit??? I went to a hardware store and bought something I thought was the same, but the rubber strainer gasket is too thick and hard to compress and seal. Brita could send out a few new ones and I would be happy to replace them when they fail. And as I read all the reviews, They Will Fail!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from horrible product [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] every time i try to use this device it sprays water all over my kitchen. Been using another filtration system for years successfully. however one brita and i am off this one. What a mess. and there is not working part to this that signifies how much has been used or if the filter needs replacement. my last one had a spot that showed usage. not this one. there is nothing to make me believe the device will let me know when it is used up.! plus the knob you turn to change water direction takes a sumo wrestler to turn. NOT a device for elderly or disabled,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple, easy and effective I'm amazed at the reviews for this great product. I've had my sink filter for about 4 years and it is finally time for a new one. It is easy to install (I did it myself) and works perfectly. I have the version that has an indicator light to tell me when to replace my filter. I was looking for an undersink filter, but I think I will stick to my Brita for a while - even the engineer at my water company uses a Brita! I checked with him on what he thought I should use and he agrees that a reverse osmosis filter is overkill for a urban/suburban water supply. One note - I fill items slowly vs. using the water pressure at full capacity. I find that when I do this, the filter lasts much longer.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Broke after 8 months, wish it had a warranty I purchased the faucet filter system for my new apartment. I didn't want to refill a Brita pitcher everyday, but the tap water tasted awful without a filter. The system was a game changer for 8 months, but even after replacing the filters on time, the system no longer functions as smoothly. The knob to turn from "filtered" to "unfiltered" was easy to switch for the first two weeks, but then it got very difficult to move the knob and it makes a creaking noise. After eight months the whole system started leaking. When I run the tap, no matter what the knob is set to, water comes out of both holes. This means the water pressure is low when washing dishes, and it takes FOREVER to fill a glass of water. Will I be buying another one? Yeah. Am I happy about it? No. I'm quite upset that I purchased such a large pack of replacement filters, because if I hadn't I would definitely find a different system made by a different company.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Consider other brands I don't recommend this (faucet mounted filter) for the following reasons: (1) Unless you have tiny, super strong fingers you will have trouble turning the VERY small, smooth knob that selects between filtered and unfiltered water, it's very hard to turn. (2) After just a few cartidges (three, I think), the filter assembly started leaking a large amount of water though the push button on the back so is now useless and requires buying ANOTHER unit to not waste the cartidges we already paid for. (3) Brita filters are expensive (around $20/cartridge), and, in my opinion, not any better than less expensive brands.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cheap Flimsy Garbage [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've bought two of these filters over the past year, first the plastic one, then the chrome one. They have both failed in the same fashion. Water will begin leaking and spraying underneath the plastic collar that connects to the faucet. This isn't an issue with the seal with the faucet, the water comes from under the collar. At first I thought the problem was the rubber washer, but you can't buy just a replacement, you have to buy an entire new unit. So I did. The new unit failed after about 3 months of normal use. In an attempt to reduce the leak, I tried to tighten the collar a little bit more by hand, when I did this the plastic connector that holds the collar to the unit broke, and the entire thing snapped in two rendering it unusable. Brita seems to have purposefully designed a system with weak parts at the point of highest stress, ensuring that their products will break quickly and you will be forced to purchase another. Very frustrating that I wasted my money on this company twice.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Leaks constantly no matter what [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Less then 2 months of owning this system and installing it twice correctly as the instructions said, all it does is leak from everywhere on it. The filter itself, the button to remove the filter, the filter indicator screen hole, the turn knob and out both sides of the spouts at the same time. We have followed every direction for it to the T and it wont work! We are not happy and the whole reason we bought this was to make it easier for us to make baby bottles with filtered water that wasnt fridge cold and not to have to constantly fill up a brita pitcher. And now we cant even do that.

Does this remove calcium from the water

Does this remove calcium from the water
Asked by: Kathy
I purchased one of these filters. It works great at getting the taste of water where I want it. It does not remove all of the calcium but it reduces the calcium significantly. Its an excellent way to solve the calcium problems short term.

why is the filter replacement cost more then the new product ?

Asked by: den
The lower cost of the new product is the hook to buy the product. The manufacturer knows that once you buy this system it is propriety and you have to buy their filters. It is the same thing with copiers. The ink replacement cartridges are about a third to a half of what a new copier costs. So the manufacturer takes somewhat of a beating on the original system and makes up for it with replacement parts.

Can the chrome and white filters fit each others base, like can I use the white filter on my chrome base

Asked by: Sandra
I've bought a number of these and they all have worn out, fallen off the faucet, started leaking, stopped separating the filtered and unfiltered water in less than a year. I have a Pur now, and I think it's much better designed

Does it come with the adapter?

My faucet is a inny not an outy.
Asked by: Lizzy
Thanks for the interest in our Faucet Filtration System, Lizzy, and we'd love to answer this question for you. If your faucet has threads on the outside, you probably won't need to use an adapter with our system. You’ll likely be able to attach the base system directly to the faucet. A special set of adapters may be required if the threads are on the outside and you can't get the collar mount onto the faucet. If this is the case, please give us a call at 800-242-7482, and have this reference number handy. Shannon from The Brita Team

We want this on our kitchen faucet, it is a "high rise" type, goes up in a big arc over the sink, curves but does not continue to point straight down, does the filter body have a swivel? Hope that makes sense... will this lead to any problems?

Asked by: Dave
Dave, thanks for reaching out with your question. Our Brita Faucet Mount Systems work with standard faucets only, not with pull-out or special head (spray) faucets. While we hope this helps, please reach out to us directly at 800-242-7482 and mention reference number 211028-000783 if you have any additional questions. Hope this clears things up.
