Rated 4 out of 5 by tequila sunrise from Good socket with dusk-to-dawn sensor Though the socket is meant for indoor only, I have been using it, for a few months, at the porch where the socket is shielded from the weather elements, and it's been working fine in that the socket turns a light bulb on at dusk and turns it off at dawn which is driven purely by the amount of light hitting the sensor, i.e. a user has no control over the time of day the socket turns on/off a light bulb. For the features the socket provides, pls refer to the photo of the user guide uploaded. I purchased the socket such that I have more choices over the types of bulbs I can buy going forward as opposed to limit myself to only those light bulbs with a built-in dusk-to-dawn sensor which tend to be expensive and very few choices. The downside to using the socket is that it lowers the light bulb in my light fixture enclosure by roughly 2.5 inches.
