I listen to talk radio programing and the speaker is great for that. It has good sound. The lights are cool but I have had no use for that feature so far. The speaker charged quickly and seems to have good battery life. I have had this about 2 weeks used it for about 6 - 8 hrs. so far and since the initial charge have only charged it once for a few hours. Its a good value!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Defiant speaker-light serves two functions. It serves as a wireless Bluetooth speaker and also as a touch light, in white light and color, with three brightness settings. The colored lights are red, blue, green, purple, and teal. Because the lights are LED, there is very little power used as well as little heat built up in the speaker. I was impressed with the sound quality of the speaker whether paired with the cell phone or Pandora from the smart TV. The sound was crystal clear. The lights come on just by powering the speaker on and then touching the colored circle on the top up to three times. Each touch will provide a different brightness level. Placing your hand on the top colored circle and keeping it there will turn on the colored lights. Tap the circle to scroll through the different colors to select the one you want. To get back to white light, simply place your hand on the colored circle and hold it there. The light will go off and when you tap it again, it will be white light. Because the speaker-light is rechargeable, you never have to worry about replacing batteries. On the bottom of the speaker is a durable metal handle to hang the speaker-light from above. While the device is not waterproof, it could be hung from the ceiling of a covered patio. Do not leave it outside for extended periods of time though as humidity could corrode the internal components. While I really like all of the speaker-light's features, there are a couple of short comings with the device. The instructions are brief and someone who is not tech savvy might have some difficulty following them. The control buttons have the functions stamped into them and they are hard to see without moving the speaker very close to your eyes. Beyond that the speaker-light is impressive.

My son loves the fact that the top of it is a touch sensitive button to turn the light on/off and to cycle through the colors. It has a rechargeable battery and an aux in so you can directly connect something to it as well. It has a handy little loop on the base so you can hang it from something if desired. He had lots of fun dancing with this speaker while changing the colors. This will be a regular feature on our patio now that the weather is cooling and the sun is setting earlier. I could see this being a nice thing to take camping as well. The one thing I don't like about it is that you have to activate the bluetooth pairing each time you turn it on. You do this by holding the "mode" button down for a few seconds, then your previously paired device will automatically connect. I just feel it should automatically do this when you turn the device on.

I will admit that I was pretty impressed with the range of bluetooth for this device. we placed the speaker in one corner of our house and went downstairs to the opposite end and corner of the house and it barely started to cut out. If we place this in a central location in our house, we will not loose connection to the speaker. I've had other brands of bluetooth speakers and my device had to be in the same room or the speaker would immediately cut out. the audio quality is descent as well and doesn't sound hollow or cheap. it has a nice rich tone and sound. There is also an option to connect directly to the speaker with an included audio cable. So we've used this with laptops and other devices that can't connect via bluetooth. The colors in the night light are nice and bright as well. there are three white light options and well as a color cycle that is nice.

No, one Bluetooth cannot link to more than one light and speaker at the same time. But you can delete the connection to one speaker and change to link to another speaker.

There could be numerous problems as to why you cannot get the speaker working. The main one is you may have the speaker in Bluetooth mode. If the speaker LED indicator is on, long press the MODE button to turn Bluetooth off. Connect your computer to the speaker using the aux cord. It will sound a prompt tone once connected successfully. You can then play music by your computer only. Hopefully you still have the instructions that Defiant included with the speaker. If not, call Defiant at 1-866-308-3976 M-F, 8 AM - 7 PM EST, and 9 AM - 6 PM EST Saturday, and request a copy.

There are three indicator lights next to the buttons on the bottom. One is red, which is on as I am charging. One is green, one is blue. I have lost my instructions. Right now I am unable to connect to Bluetooth. Can you explain the different lights. Thank you.

Hi, I have several of these speakers. Mine only has two lights. One by the on button which lights red when charging.The other light is next to the mode button. It is blue when Bluetooth is activated.I’m not certain but I think one of the lights may show green when the speaker needs to be charged. I found that if you are having difficulty with the Bluetooth connection that turning Bluetooth off on your phone may help. With the speaker off , turn the Bluetooth on, on the phone. The. Turn the speaker on. Once on hold the mode button until you head the speaker sound the Bluetooth tooth on sound. The blue light will blink until it is connected to your phone. You may need to manually accept the Bluetooth connection on your phone. Once the connection is made it should connect automatically the next time.
