Light up your DEWALT storage racks with this Motion Activated Storage Rack Light Kit. Designed for use with the DXST10000, DXST4500, and DXST4500-W storage racks these lights can be easily used on those or any steel-frame storage rack. Made from durable and lightweight aluminum and ABS plastic with a polycarbonate lens to withstand the occasional impact without breaking. A pair of powerful neodymium magnets on each strip allow you to easily mount the light in place on your storage rack. The kit also includes 8 hook-and-loop strips to help manage cords by taking up the slack in the 8-foot power cord and 3-foot jumper cords. The included magnetic mounting motion sensor allows you to set the light to come on when you approach and shut off automatically after 5 minutes of no motion detection. Each strip contains 15 individual diodes to provide 500 lumens of illumination and you can expand your light setup with up to 3 additional lighting strips to create a custom lighting system.

I love this product from a light stand point and easy to use but I cannot get the motion detector to work. When I plug that section in the lights do not work. Does this require something special to make it work?

Motion switch also a plus and the manual on off switch makes more versatile. Puts out a nice amount of light for the size quality made product.

These work great and have strong magnets.They seem really well made and like they will last for quite a while. We have a dark corner of our garage where the main lighting doesn't really light up. I attached these lights to the metal shelves in that corner. I originally set them up so the motion sensor was by door into the house to automatically light it up as you walked into the garage. This worked great but my wife asked me to move the sensor so it was facing towards her car so the lights would come on as she backed into the garage. It really helps her see to back in. This LED light kit from DeWalt with motion sensor does a nice job of lighting a section of my garage until I can go over and use the pull cord on the overhead shop lights. The kit comes with three LED light strips that emit about 500 lumens each that are daisy-chained and can add up to three additional lights if desired. The combined 1,500 lumens gives me plenty of light to get around the garage, even without turning on the shop lights. The motion sensor has a toggle switch to turn the strip lights on manually or by using motion. I mounted the motion sensor on the rafter and it senses when I am coming near and activates the lights. There are magnets attached to the rear of the strip lights and the motion sensor. The magnets were strong enough to attach the strip lights my shop lights while I mounted the motion sensor in place with screws. The kit also comes with eight hook and loop strips for mounting the lights though not necessary for my application. There is a one-year limited warranty on this light kit, and if not completely satisfied there is a 90-day money back guarantee through DeWalt. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

The included ,otion sensor also has a magnetic mount and is a nice feature to initate the lights as you approach, as well as a 5 minute automatic shut off timer. This kit includes 3 light strips, totaling 1500 lumens or 500 lumens per light strip, the option to link together 3 additional light stricps, totaling 6 strips per sensor. First off, I am a fan of DeWalt, so that did influence my decision to get this light set. I have always had good luck with DeWalt. This is a three light set with a seperate module to sense for motion. This makes installation and placement better and gives you more options in where to mount everything. The DeWalt Motion-Activated LED shelf lights are a perfect way to light up a shelf so you can showcase everything in it. In fact, these lights are bright enough that alone, you can light up a whole shelving unit, which is what I am using these for. The magnets on the back of each unit provide a great stand and are very powerful. However, you might want to make sure you put these in a place with air flow because after a while, the LEDs get hot.
