Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Product! I like everything about this product. It's compact, easy to use and install. It has giant characters that are easy to read, and it's accurate (according to my unscientific testing and comparison). [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from WONDERFUL DISPLAY Indoor-Outdoor your covered. The large display makes it so easy to read. I use mine indoors, I like the fact that it shows the humidity. Especially considering where I live... [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Readable Thermometer I love finally being able to see the temperature without putting on my glasses! It shows the humidity as well. There is a little stand, so you can set it down anywhere and move it from place to place. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally, a thermometer/hygrometer I can read from across the room. The Extech Instruments Model # 445703 Big Digit Hygro-Thermometer is a good match for my weak eyesight from across the room. I can read the 1-inch digits from my dressing table without having to get up and move closer to the display. I like the simultaneous indication of temperature and humidity and one button display of maximum and minimum readings along with the easy, one touch reset of these functions. I mounted the unit on the wall opposite my dresser where I can see it easily and decide whether to turn on the humidifier or adjust the space heater in the room. The device comes with a built-in, fold-out stand and 1.5 volt, AAA battery included. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An outstanding Hygro-Thermometer My wife and I both really like this digital hygro-thermometer. After some discussion we decided to place it in the refrigerator portion of our refrigerator/freezer unit. We have been having trouble keeping our refrigerator at a temperature we like based on the analog temperature gauge we have been using. From the large easy to read display you see immediately if there is a problem with the temperature setting. This thermometer is very versatile and may be used almost anywhere. I was using it to monitor the temperature in the garage before moving it to the refrigerator. Now I need to buy a second one for the garage. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wish more thermometers were like this Indoor thermometer and hygrometer with large numbers. I have seen bigger numbers on lower-price thermometers, but not with hygrometer. The size is ample to read from several feet away without reading glasses, contrast works well on a dim-lit shelf. Flip-out stand. VERY nicely made. Standard AAA battery. The thermometer is almost "too accurate". It reads to a tenth-degree... do I care 68.5 or 68.7 degrees? I have technical doubts about 0.1 deg accuracy at this price, and there's more than 1 deg difference as I walk around a room. Does look impressive. There is a Humidity readout. Most low-price humidity gauges are goofy. I have three that say 50% 60% and 69% all in the same place. One of these hasn't moved in weeks. This Extech is using some kind of electronic humidity sensor. It reacts reasonably quickly, and the numbers "feel" approximately right to my sometimes-sore dry nose. The real test will be next summer when we will reliably have 95%+ humidity every morning, but I wanted to get this review up sooner than that. There is a Max/Min button which says your high and low since the last Reset. Both Temperature and Humidity. I like to check how much the house temperature drops overnight. I have the night 'stat set at 62, this thermometer reports 62.7, which is super-close and reasonable (the 'stat is more exposed than the thermometer). My indoor humidity has hit 29% and 43% over a month of sometimes cold/dry sometimes warm/wet weather, which seems right. On my sample, the Max/Min button is glitchy. Some times it does not "hear" a press, sometimes it jumps twice for one press. But really good switches cost more, and this is fine for the purpose. And mine may not be typical. Extech offers a LOT of other such products. Indoor/outdoor no humidity, indoor/outdoor with humidity, a radio-sync ("atomic") clock with day/date and temp and humidity, as well as technican's tools.
