    Model # NCVT2VP Store SKU # 1000788240

The NCVT2VP includes a dual range non-contact voltage tester as well as a receptacle tester. The NCVT-2 automatically detects and indicates low voltage (12 - 48VAC) and standard voltage (48 - 1000VAC) allowing broad application. The RT100 will troubleshoot standard 120 VAC grounded outlets.

    1. Automatically detects and indicates low voltage (12 - 48VAC) and standard voltage (48 - 1000VAC) allowing broad application.
    1. The NCVT-2 provides non-contact detection of standard voltage in cables, cords, circuit breakers, lighting fixtures, switches, outlets and wires.
    1. The NCVT-2 also provides non-contact detection of low voltage in security, entertainment, communications, environmental control and irrigation systems.
    1. High intensity, bright green or blue LED indicates the tester is operational and aids in illuminating the workspace.
    1. The RT 100 is designed to detect the most common wiring problems in standard receptacles.
    1. Conditions the RT100 indicates: wiring correct, open ground, reverse polarity, open hot, open neutral, hot/ground reversed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value for such a useful tool This tool have been very useful and keeps me save. I have had an issue in the past where I was working in a switch box that had 2 breakers running power to it. I accidently crossed connection not knowing the box was live. Now I will know.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works perfectly. READ THE MANUAL!!! @D L S: your comment suggests you probably didn't know how to use the probe properly or understand how it works. Even with the transformer unplugged? Huh? If the low-voltage detection constantly beeped, no matter what, then you had a defective unit and should have returned it. If it only beeped near the transformer, then it was detecting SOMETHING ELECTRICAL NEARBY. I've been using the non-contact test probe for a couple of months now and it is excellent but I did read the manual and play with it for 20 minutes first. 12V - 48V is categorized as "low voltage" and 48V - 1,000V is categorized as "high voltage", HOWEVER, that is only for direct of the probe against bare metal. You will find that HIGH voltages can trigger the LOW voltage response if the probe is a few inches away. When the probe gets closer to a high voltage circuit, it will correctly identify it as high voltage but it is detected as a low voltage from a distance. If your probe was beeping in low-voltage detection mode, this would have most likely been as the probe was CLOSE TO (but not actually touching) a HIGH VOLTAGE circuit. You were doing something silly but it's hard to say exactly what, as you didn't provide enough information. This is a great product but, as with any diagnostic tool, you do need a little bit of common sense to use it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Low voltage tester did not perform well Low voltage tester did not perform well. Used it to trouble shoot low voltage lighting, ...it was beeping away with transformer unplugged. The higher range decter worked fine.
