I am a plumber and purchased this to replace my old Milwaukee right angle which I've had for almost 12 years. I broke two in two days, luckily home depot will let you return anything. I purchased the same model from Ferguson and could tell immediately the difference between China trash and American made. This drill is for homeowners and weekend warriors only.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from this drill complements the hole hawg. have used it for 10 years and it still works like new. i lend it to friends because i have no worries this drill with its rotating head enables you to safely drill in situations that might require the operator to be in an otherwise unsafe position. as an electrical contractor I could not imagine being in business without it. after 15 years as an electrician I decided to throw my hat into the ring. my tools to start out included the following, all Milwaukee: hole hawg; right angle drill; portaband; sawzall.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Power To Spare! This drill is heavy duty! I have used auger and selfeed bits and this drill will take anything you throw at it. Use the side handle for extra support and hold on. The only down side to this tool is it's weight, but the power makes up for it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I had the same drill for 25 years and it was great. After buying a new one from Home Depot it on... I had the same drill for 25 years and it was great. After buying a new one from Home Depot it only lasted a few uses. Running into another contractor he mentioned that Home Depot gets these tools made with plastic parts instead of metal and they do not hold up. I know that is a common theme with Home depot having the manufacturers "cheapen" their products to the Home Depot spec. I thought that Milwaukee would be different but, it looks like they have succumbed to the large draw of Home Depot also. I will be buying tools from a tool dealer from now on.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Maybe minbe was a lemon...... After reading the reviews, I bought this drill for my latest home improvement project. Was fairly disappointed; in order to speed up the drill, one needs to remove the angle head, then remove an Allen bolt (which strips out very easily), and then use a hammer to get the chuck out. The directions stated using the hammer, not me. Parts were missing from the box (it was factory sealed when I purchased it), as I stated in my summary, maybe mine was a lemon but I was very disappointed. Further, these drill are no wmade in China; not sure if all competing products are made there as well. Look elsewhere.....

Drilling 3/4 inch holes in the framing studs that are 16 inches on center and the window headers to route the new wiring. This Milwaukee drill made the task easy.

However, over the past couple of weeks three of us building a house have used this thing a lot for all the electric and plumbing. I was concerned with it being only 7 amps when I bought it, but this thing has no problems going through three studs with the right bit. Right out of the box, this drill has been worth every penny.

How do you change the speed?

The speed within either of the 2 speed ranges in variable via the trigger. To change between the low and the high range, you must swap the right angle head around, which involves removing the chuck from it.

No,  To drill through concrete, you will need a Hammer drill and a masonry bit.  The 90 degree drill is used for tight spaces.  (Drilling between floor joist or studs for plumbing or electrical).

How do you convert from right angle to straight 1/2” drill

You have to remove the right angle attachment after you remove the chuck and chuck screw. Then reinstall the chuck and chuck screw onto the drill.
