Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to install, slightly wider that real wood Good quality and easy to install. I replaced some posts on my deck since it was sinking slightly. I love that these are adjustable even after they're already installed. Note that it's slightly larger than an actual 6x6 post so when you screw them into the wood it bends inward. If installing with cinder blocks, make sure you secure it down with bolts

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wrong Advertised Size I bought these to fit 6x6 posts, when we measured they are actually 5 1/2 x 5 1/2. Had to make them fit because they were a special order. Now have to buy post covers because they look horrible.

Can this be used in conjunction with the Pylex 50" support screw model #10555, for using 6x6 posts instead of the 4x4 posts?

Asked by: silverbullet
Hello Sir, Absolutely, this is what we recommand to have an 6x6 saddle, you will still need the 4x4 saddle for the installation. Anything else, please let us know. Thanks

I tried installing these but didnt feel they were sturdy as it just inserts into the bottom base loosely. I didnt have any load other than the beam but didnt think they would work on a floating deck next to a pool.

Asked by: Robbiedoggie
My deck was hinged one side to building. But  for install you should have a solid level base with a 4’x4’x2” or 4” (heavy duty) patio slab then place a patio block support with the adjustable inserted up to your deck beam and fastened. You will want to set the height so that you will be able to adjust to your likely season changes. Extended if height likely needs reducing at that time. Retracted if it likely needs to be raised. Mid if adjustment is minimal. I needed them cause, I had to manually jack up and re-level all the patio slabs every spring (very tedious).  The deck should not sway if properly levelled and supported. I believe the maximum total adjustment was 5-7 “from low to high. Hope this helps

Hi. Would it be OK if I set the unit before the concrete sets using maybe using 8 or 10" spikes as opposed to using Tap-con screws after the concrete has set? We're setting up a fairly heavy sign on two 6x6 posts.

When using these with deck blocks, are the bottom of these supports supposed to be screwed into the deck block? Will this not reduce the structural integrity of the deck block, especially since all deck blocks have a hole in the middle? Please advise

Asked by: Teredactle
Hello Sir, If you deck is attach to your house, it is not necessary to screwed them in the deck block. However if it is a floating deck, the deck block will not crack if you make a proper holes prior using tapcon screws. I would recommand to follow the screw manufacturer (tapcon or others) recommandation on that matter. Anything else, please let us know. Thanks
