Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome color Love it! Have used the Max Green for about 4 or 5 years and always gets me compliments. It's true about the color changing in 3 days too. I have heard of some people having issue with it staining concrete but I've never had any problem. Just sweep it into the grass for small spills (pick up large spills) and then I water in the fertilizer quite well. It's a little more money but well worth it in my opinion. Sets you apart from the neighbors... until they figure out you're using it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a fantastic product I bought this last year and I am closing in on one year total. I have the greenest lawn. I alternated with Scotts grass seed as well. Add proper watering and the grass just takes off. Now when I push a screwdriver into the lawn to test soil density I hear a lot of grass roots crunching because there is so much grass, it's like a carpet. Two years ago with no fertilizer, no grass seed and no watering, I had a horrible weed ridden lawn. Ortho Weed B Gon Max controls the weeds and the healthy grass chokes them out by out competing them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well if applied correctly! I purchased a bag of this fertilizer in hopes of improving my back yard without having to reseed and start over in the fall. My lawn is your typical cool season lawn with a mix of Kentucky Blue Grass, Perennial Rye Grass, and Fescue. I applied this product dead in the middle of summer when most lawns are going dormant due to lack of rain and water restrictions here on the west coast. After 3 days, I wasn't seeing the results I was expecting but to be fair, you should be using this product when the grass is actively growing. I was starting to right this product off. Then after a few weeks, I was blown away by the explosive growth that my grass was going through. 20 days in and my lawn has NEVER looked this good. Watch the video and see the results for your self. I am loving this fertilizer and I would buy it over and over. Highly recommended.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Something went wrong ….I have used Scott’s products for years …but this year I applied this on my lawn and within a week my lawn looked like someone painted it brown. I am tying to get it back to normal, but i’m actually worried about it. At the same time my wife had a “no grow” experience with Scott’s grass seed on another area of our lawn. Bad batches? Quality control ?? I used a spreader and applied the same way I do every spring and fall so not sure what happened. I love Scotts products in general, but this year not so much.

I have always used the Scotts brand fertilizer however thought I'd give this particular one a try. Although it does give the lawn the nice deep green colour I did find that I didn't notice any real change in the 3 days they advertise, for me it seems to have taken closer to a week and a half to 2 weeks, but it's nice and green now and I will use it again.

Grows thick and very dark green. Stands out in your neighbourhood like you wouldn't believe. Just be ready you will have to mow it every 5-6 days because of how well it works. I don't mind mowing that often, just love how great it looks. Never burned my lawn!

How much does a cup of this fertilizer weigh ? I ask this because you need to put down a certain amount / weight per 1,000 sq ft and I don't have a small scale to measure.

Weight doesn’t really matter. The best way to apply this product is with a spreader, either a hand held type or a walk-behind one. They both have settings on them, and the setting to use is printed on your bag of product. The spreaders are for sale wherever the fertilizer is sold. Hope this helps!

How long after shall you water the lawn after applynig Scotts Turf Builder Green MAX Lawn Food? Also, how often should you water (3 times a week for 20 minutes)?

After applying Scotts Turf Builder Green MAX Lawn Food water your lawn for 5 minutes. Make sure before watering that you sweep any of this product from sidewalks and other hard surfaces, it will stain. Your lawn needs 1 inch of water per week during the growing season. It is recommended you water twice a week 1/2 an inch at a time.

Is this product pet friendly?

I use this product regularly on our lawns and have noticed no ill effects on either our dog or our children who are frequently playing on the lawn, sometimes right after application. The only change we see is a beautifully green lawn.

When used according to label instructions plain fertilizers pose no health risks. Both humans and animals may reenter immediately after the application.
